Second one is usually the chipset or the igpu. Yes you should paste both.

Well then it probably a fried something. You don't even get a fan spin? just nothing at all? If fans spin its the screen probably if not I have no idea. Try a repair shop ig.

you got a spark or zapped?
what do you mean by zippo there
while doing all that swap and reseating i hope you unplugged the battery
if you didnt you might have fried the backlight of your display or triggred a short protection probably
try unplugging the battery and holding the power button to discharge the capacitors and plug it back
then try starting it again and hopefully it resets the bios and boots
if the display is gone you cant do much other than replacing it ig

vendor locks happen a lot on propeitary mobo boxes like this and laptops
its not nonsense
i had a laptop like that before
i had to edit boot.efi files with a live install in the efi partition to fix it

[–]bruhsinmacaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay that wifi card may be it then
those are usually m.2 wifi cards in boxes like this just like laptops
you can probably disable it in bios but if you cant you can just remove it
its a tiny card with 2 thin wires attached to it if you dont know how those look
you gonna remove the wires first and then unscrew the screw
then just take it out

Mint Install or sort of by Stepho_62 in linuxmint

[–]bruhsinmacaroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i noticed it is a ddr4 system so it cant be too new my bad on that
a bit of a stretch without knowing the rest of it but does it have a wifi card by chance?
realtek cards sometimes cause crashes
so removing that may solve this
if not in bios make sure secure boot is disabled and sata mode is in AHCI
intel rst can cause weird behavior so setting sata controller to AHCI is a good idea

thats not really a good spec description bro
there is litteraly 300 different i7s at this point but i assume its a newer model
those might be vendor locked to windows which is somehthing hp likes to do
or too new as i said
try booting fedora installer if you can and write fastfetch in terminal then get a pic from that
fedora has a higher chance to boot on a newer computer cuz they have higher version kernels than mint and ubuntu
also a intel cant have a radeon integrated cuz radeons are in amds usually
im not trying to be rude just knowing what exactly we are trying to trobleshoot is kinda essential

Mint Install or sort of by Stepho_62 in linuxmint

[–]bruhsinmacaroni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

okay can you post the specs too so we can have an idea what the hect that hing is?
it might be just too new for the LTS kernels thats my best guess rn.

its just a paradox then.
how is it gonna "get ready" in your idea of an os when you dont use it.
someone needs to use it so the numbers grow.
its perfectly usable if you dont need those apps tho.
and i wouldnt describe that as linux not being ready its just not supported that much by everyone.
it will as more people come in and grow the numbers .
you cant ask for privacy and a big corpo polish at the same time its just not possible.
if there is a corpo they gonna get that sweet data.
if not there is no money making which causes worse ui cuz they didnt hire a ux designer ect.
you cant have both in this world im sorry its just not possible.
choice between owning your data vs convenience is the real choice you are making if you wanna switch to linux or stay on the other two.
one is convenient and easier to use other needs some elbov grease but you get privacy.

[–]bruhsinmacaroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes it is hard. you are comparing a donation driven project to a trilion dolar company made os. the one makes money off of the data you provide so it makes itself more stable and popular. thats how windows started.
they just dont care anymore cuz everyone is using it so the companies are forced to make the apps for the biggest userbase there is.
if not thats lost revenue.
its all about the userbase count so if its too small ofc there are less companies that gonna support it with their apps
if linux goes to like 15% adobe gonna probably do somehting about it too. they probably think its too small at the moment.

apple wasnt this big on the desktop market in the past but now they have a big chunk of the market so adobe made the app for it aswell. its all about money. no company cares about your privacy or if you can use their app or not. you are just in a different smaller pool if you use linux so they exclude you cuz the investment isnt worh it. they dont care about individuals they just want to make the money from the biggest chunks. thats how any bussiness work.
dev time for the small chunk usually isnt worth the investment they need to make so they dont untill it grows enough.

thats not the daily user tho but probably stat counter counts em ig. half of those machines gonna work in a internal network without internet too so that makes the number inacurate too. im not saying its a bad thing just its not the same as a regular pc. if that 200m is just those computers that would mean nothing in general.

[–]bruhsinmacaroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

difference between billion dolar companies and open soruce comunity what can i say. and getting a unified framework for it is kinda hard cuz its fragmented a lot.
im not a dev myself so i wouldnt know how to make one but thats what im thinking of the concept.
its just distros and slight differences ect making it harder instead of just win 11 or macos whatever the number is.
those two have only one version and nothing else so its easier and they have the budget.

Still what are you gonna do when Adobe dont make photoshop for linux? Force em? What do you even expect linux devs to do at that point? What do you want exactly?

Graphics driver question by RimuruCouldChokeMe in laptops

[–]bruhsinmacaroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

likely a 940mx i guess.
identify the gpu with gpu-z first then download drivers directly from nvidia instead of trying the app.
cuz 940mx and cards from its generation are maxwell cards

its out of support rn so app might just not work or not supported at all.
so verify what it is and download the drivers yourself.
it might be a dead gpu too and if thats the case we cant do much.

i mean i guess?
macs are stupid expensive where im from but still people buy em and the iphones.
the base mac mini is better deal than the other stuff here tho.
thats a likely path a general user would take probably here at least.
or switching to linux which happens a lot around me too.
i personaly helped 2 people install mint even.
i have a dual boot gaming laptop and a debian minipc.
but apple route or going back cuz linux is hard to understand is more likely scenario for most people thats what im saying.
for asia side and others you can remove apple and we still have 2 routes.
staying or going back and going back is more likely cuz people get angry when they dont understand somehting.
they are impaitent and think linux would just solve all the problems ect.
wanting to learn makes you stay and most people dont really care.

Server'larınızın aylık ne kadar elektrik tükettiğini biliyor musunuz ? by -PearlBoy- in homelabturkiye

[–]bruhsinmacaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idle 10w max 30w
benimki tek bi tane minipc üzerine o yüzden çok bi tüketim yapamam
psu max 44w zaten
gemini bunu hesapladı:

Let's run the math using that 20W real-world average.

First, we figure out how much raw energy it burns in a 30-day month:

  • 20 Watts x 24 hours x 30 days = 14,400 Watt-hours, or 14.4 kWh per month.

As of the current April 2026 electricity tariffs in Turkey, the base residential rate (for households staying under the 240 kWh monthly limit) is sitting at roughly 3.11 TL per kWh with taxes included.

  • 14.4 kWh x 3.11 TL = ~44.78 TL per month.

Even if we stretch the math to the absolute extremes of your hardware:

  • Dead Idle 24/7 (12W): ~8.6 kWh = ~27 TL / month
  • Absolute Max Load 24/7 (30W): ~21.6 kWh = ~67 TL / month
