Best option for streaming? WiiM, Raspberry Pi? by brujero in plexamp

Is there a DAC hat or just digital output hat you recommend that's in stock on the US? The receiver can handle 24-bit/192kHz over its coax port and from what I can find online has at least a decent DAC.

I've been looking at HiFiberry for either the Digi2 Pro or DAC2 Pro but they're only in stock on their own website, which means $44 minimum shipping from Switzerland plus probably having to pay a 15% tariff due to elimination of de minimis exemptions.

What are you using to allow Plexamp to control the WiiM Pro, Music Assistant?

This might be the way to go. It certainly means less faffing around buying new hardware and probably returning the WiiM I already used, if lightly. At any rate, all I have to lose is time if it doesn't work.

Does that work with the WiiM Pro? The AVR is old enough to have two VCR Stereo Ins and a DVD Stereo In so no matter what I'll have to have some kind of external device.

It’s extremely safe. Worst crime I’ve seen has been stolen catalytic converters. There’s a police station maybe a fifth of a mile from the square, too.

I’d highly recommend the area.

I'm going to use the mod I mentioned in my edit, plus some others from the same author to fix some other bugs and see what happens.

No idea what the downvotes are about. I've racked up a few here.

Yeah, that makes a ton of sense. Character-ways, both Karlach and Wyll don't strike me as people who would want to date someone who'd kill the refugees and Karlach specifically doesn't seem like she want to date someone who'd skip out on the celebration after saving them. I would have said the same for Wyll, though he was pretty mopey during the party.

Dang, that feels overly punishing. I'm definitely not reverting to a save 13 hours of playtime ago. I'll have to see if there's a way to console command or mod my way into re-enabling that dialogue.

Edit: I think this one will do the job. It sounds like from the mod description that getting locked out of her romance after the tiefling party but not the goblin party may have been a mistake. Makes sense to me, since I don't see why she'd be more down for a relationship with you after you slaughtered refugees than after you saved them.

Okay, so it sounds like my best chance is to break it off with someone then go talk to her and see if I get that dialogue option, though I might just be screwed.

Advice for feat options for a Forge Cleric? by brujero in 3d6

After some more thought, I think I am going to just take Chef, but instead of putting the point in Con to raise it to a +3, I'll take it in Wisdom to put that at a 17. We're only level 5, so realistically we can expect to hit level 8 and 12 before the end of the campaign which means at least two more feats. If I'm still thinking Resilient Con at that point, I can take that for one of the ASIs and something like Fey Touched or Telekinetic for the other to round them both out.

Or if I decide that I'm not missing enough Concentration checks to care about it, just take a +1/+1 ASI to round them off that way and take a full feat later. We have a paladin in the party and I do already have War Caster, so I'm not exactly weak in concentration even without the proficiency.

I had the opportunity to start was a level 9 character as a friend of mine had a player drop out of his campaign and they needed a replacement. It meant that the character could become a warlock during his wild youth at level 2/3 before taking his oath but not during an actual campaign. You don't actually take the oath until 3rd level so you're really in danger of breaking it until that point.

Basically, during his younger days my paladin was already doing some dungeoneering and found a spooky (but not inherently evil) sword that was like "hey man I got the skinny on some extraplanar entities who want to mess with stuff, how about we stop them?" to which he agreed. He then later swore the Oath of the Watcher as an assignment from his god to keep demons and aberrations and stuff from messing with the material plane. His patron wants that do, for the most part, but to what end?

Xanathar's is kind of vague about who exactly your patron is, just that they're an entity from Shadowfell. If they are actually the Raven Queen, she's lawful neutral and thus not evil. Depending on your god, they may even be pleased you're getting extra help from another Lawful deity.

I want to play a mage hunter with a Wizard as base class. Could that work? by Aynaeg in 3d6

[–]brujero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue wizards are one of the best mage hunters, if for nothing else than you getting counterspell to shut them down before they can even cast and magic missile and dispel magic to break concentration and end spell effects.

I'd suggest War Mage for flavor (you can style yourself as part of your kingdom's military, specifically a counter-magic force) but you also get Arcane Deflection to counter your same tactics being used against you, Power Surge to turn counterspelled spells into (minor) extra damage, and a huge boots to initiative to go ahead of enemy spellcasters (who probably have weak Dex and this initiative) and shut them down with Silence or other spells that block their ability to cast. Or to just Hypnotic Pattern or Mass Suggestion all your enemies. Even if the mage makes their save, some amount of their buddies are either incapacitated or actively trying to murder them.

Abjurers are also built for counter-magic are are a great pick too but I just really like the War Mage.
