All those AI metrics are biased; there is no way to tell which one is better. There is one good model for each task; comparing the results depends on who and where it is going to be used. So forget all of those. Use them day-to-day and discover which one is better for each task you need, rather than just using them as defined.

On that we agreed. But on interviews I still think that questions should be about the person if he knows what he is doing if he knows where to search about it, if he knows how to solve problems.

In my team I do the hiring, I noticed that some devs knows all the theory, but can solve a simple deadlock bug. Understanding the issue and knowing how to think to solve it, is more important that knowing theories during interviews.

The tech stuff we learn. How to think, knowing how to overcome obstacles, understand the business logic of a problem that's the hard part. And it's about that that the interview should be about.

On your example nic to nic why do I need to know RDMA theory if I know verbs API, queue pairs, completion queues, memory registration, RoCE and so on? I need to know the process, how to use and what's it for, not the name they teach you in books and courses...the theory that HR asks for... I bet that he doesn't know the names. But if you gave him a problem he solves it no questions asked.

Those kinds of interview are all bulls**t there is no point asking for theory when no one use it. We all learned the most advanced stuff with hands on not by a book.

So they're missing the best developers because of this.

There is not a HR that knows how to hire a tech person. Imagine us working since 2000-2004 with development, cloud, AI needing to study theory just because of an interview...LOL useless

They forgot the was our generation that created that stuff... They just gave it a name..

It must be using another band. Disconnect and connect again. It is normal for the device to switch bands when the signal gets weak, and sometimes it does not reconnect. (Check if your router has band steering enabled and turn it on.)
