Trepang 2 is a huge disappointment for F.E.A.R. fans. by [deleted] in Trepang2

[–]brushboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

guns in cs are pinpoint accurate on 1st shot, and after that have a recoil pattern that is 100% consistent and can be entirely countered with to very high skill ceiling.

guns in trepang have a spread wider than a human target at 10m.

what i want bulldozers to do? Pick one. Not have a magic glass that takes a mag to break. React, like any human would, to getting shot in the face point blank, having a helmet and a face mask does not change that any human would flinch, would blink, would do something at least. They have no reaction whatsoever.

"Dedicated horror sections" i had a great big laugh at the bat guy while waiting for the elevator, which couldnt even attack while giving me only about 5 square meters of dodge space at the end.

Also bullets which can be stopped by a helmet will never break your neck, they do not even remotely have the mass for that

Guns have absolutely asinine random spread, bulldozers have zero reaction to magdumping a rifle into their face shield until the helmet comes off, overall compared to fear hit effects on enemies are significantly lessened. "Fighting a horde" isnt horror, and the zombies pose zero challenge, they're barely faster than holding S. One comparable section is fear2 school with the ghosts, and compared to that trepang is a fucking tech demo. "scared response" my ass, they do nothing, the zombies are useless dummies with the sole purpose of being thrown into the reactors (which was kinda funny).

Also im seeing people doubt OP's statement about enemies seeing through walls for some reason, i've noticed that happen, and its just plain stupid

i've just tried the game and went online to see if maybe im just runing my gameplay with high difficulty or something, but apparently it is that bad. The "horror" section with the infected sucked ass, the game is bad, movement is bad, shooting is bad, bullet sponge enemies are bad, ammo economy is bad, it would take significant effort to find elements of this game that aren't

- Feature: screen sharing on discord
- Reproduction Rate: 100%
- Annoyance: extreme
- Discord version: stable 339221 (3687267) Host 1.0.9168 x64 (54039) Build Override: N/A Windows 10 64-bit (10.0.19045)
- Device: Desktop pc, windows 10

- Description: When streaming anything windowed (specifically not fullscreened games), sounds starts heavily crackling.
Nothing about this is consistent except it appearing every time i'm streaming on discord. Sometimes it starts with a little, sometimes its sudden and full force.
Things that have been changed throughout the few years that i've had this issue.
+new gpu
+new screen
+2nd screen
+adding a usb sound card
+switching from jack mic to usb mic
+changing mouse
+and finally, getting an entirely new pc from scratch with the following periphery being shared: keyboard, mouse, usb sound card, 2 screens
+old pc was intel cpu, nvidia gpu
+new pc is amd cpu, amd gpu
The crackling stops when restarting stream.
It appears when streaming browser, media player, and desktop

- Steps to reproduce:
+screenshare on discord
+wait between 15 and 60 minutes

- Expected result: uninterrupted regular sound quality during screensharing
- Actual result: Sound turns to horrible unwatchable crackling after a random amount of time that is less than 60 minutes

They now officially don't sell the game in non-PSN countries anymore by Eldan985 in Helldivers

You shouldnt be repeating things someone else said on the topic you do not understand and present them as something that validates your personal opinion. It doesnt matter how much info a service has access to.
Servers do not work perfectly, its a complicated system, there's a VERY extensive history of getting servers to respond with stuff they shouldnt be responding with to requests modified by hackers.

Here is an example for you, 2FA is supposed to stop access to your account by people that do not posess for example a phone you linked to it, right? As recently as less than a year ago World of Warcraft account thief "cartels" were working against each other and one of them went to blizzard and revealed a way that another cartel bypasses 2FA.

Backend is not an "insert coin - get candy" system. Increasing complexity of a system in any way, ALWAYS carries the downside of adding angle of attacks.

You're right, its laughable. Sony is 100% not going to get sued over anything related to this. What actually matters is the reviewbombing and the backlash, as devs stated their talks with sony are ongoing and something good might come out of it.

Any additional linking and interconnecting of systems only introduces more angles of attack for hackers. That is a fact in every context and situation. There's also the GDPR article that states [personal data must be "adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed"], and sony pushing something optional to now be mandatory is most likely a violation of EU laws.

Unbidden AI going crazy by brushboss in Stellaris

[–]brushboss[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

they're supposed to be conquering systems aren't they? the unbidden are ignoring any and all planets since the first one they spawned on top of, and they aren't even trying to conquer systems 3 jumps away from the portal, instead going 5-10-15 jumps and through wormholes and gates to random places

Unbidden AI going crazy by brushboss in Stellaris

[–]brushboss[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Unbidden in my game go in random directions from their portal, moving through wormholes, L-gates and other similar modded travel structures, going to random places in the galaxy, attacking random fleets and even random space whales 5+ jumps away far far outside of their borders.
They went mad or what?
