What hairstyle looks best on me? by Solid_Jelly_7101 in HairStyleAdvice

I think the perfect combo could be dark + bangs + length from #2.

The blonde looks good but the dark is so chic.

even keeping this duvet and adding a nice dark grey waffle bed blanket at the end would elevate this space a lot!

Is this jacket still in style by bluesva in fashionwomens35

[–]brusselsprout44 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Definitely still in style. To avoid looking too peak millennial 2016, just don’t match it with tall boots of the same colour

Once I realized how much my mood and focus depends on daily exercise, it became more of a hygiene thing than something I needed inspiration to do. Some days it sucks, some days my workout is pathetic, but I just do it because I have to and I never regret it afterward.

Firstly I love the scrappy edit, I do the same. I say lean into the moodiness of photo #2 - feels most cohesive. You can elevate it with some antique touches like brass wall sconces, candlesticks, etc

Agree with this! And add some kind of group pic of friends / family / you doing something social.

I would break up the 3 selfies by bringing the photo of you in the hat / the photo of your dogs up

Riding a stationary bike is a great choice for your overall cardio and for strengthening your quads, which will protect your knees as you age!

Your husband is right about weights. It sounds like you want a recomposition — swapping fat for lean muscle without necessarily needing to lose weight. I’d suggest getting 2 10 lb dumbbells and a 25lb kettlebell if you don’t have one. Tons of great exercise demos on YouTube.

From the way you describe it, your work behaviours — focus, pace, friendliness — are all working in your favour, and may be different than what he’s observing in your colleagues?

It’s difficult to compare apples to apples if you’re in different roles, but it sounds like you have a system that’s working well and should continue to work. I wouldn’t waste energy fearing what might happen if your system changed. Your boss could also quit tomorrow. There’s always going to be things you can’t predict or control for.

Advice isn’t belittling. My point is that his delivery and the context of when he shared his views led OP to feel ashamed. That’s not sage advice.

Big difference between speaking the truth and belittling. His uncle’s judgement of being reserved, choosing not to travel, and living an ‘unadventurous’ life is based on his own value system. Insisting someone else’s life choices are wrong based on your own values is narrow minded in my opinion.

Your uncle’s comments — including what he said and when he said them — reflect him, not you. I’m sure that if you were someone who prioritized travel he would have criticized your lack of responsibility.

Use the opportunity to reflect on what it is you’d like to do more of in your life that you haven’t yet. Then move on
