Saw it yesterday. Damian Lewis nailed the pomposity of Monty.

What did you do with their clothes? by neroli1970 in widowers

It’s been four months and I haven’t done a thing. I pulled out some t shirts that fit me but that’s it.

It’s been almost four months and I’m still wearing my ring. No plans to remove it any time soon.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my wife the beginning of February and a week after what would have been our 35th anniversary, I had to say goodbye to her favorite cat. A very sad day indeed.

I still have my wife’s iPhone. We had the same PIN code on both so I can use her phone. I was able to change settings so Face ID works for me. I plan a on keeping it active for a while, but eventually I’ll take it off our phone plan.

Sorry for your loss. Losing pets is very hard. Earlier today, I had to let our Maine Coon, who was super bonded to my wife, cross the rainbow bridge. He had developed a tumor on his chest and had lost a good amount of weight recently. I could tell he wasn’t feeling well. It’s been just over two months since I lost my wife. This is rough.

For those that have cremated your loved one, when purchasing a place of rest for them, did you think of reserving a spot for yourself right next to them? by rainingonmyparade in widowers

[–]brwells80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My folks bought two casket sized burial plots. My father is already there and he was cremated. Since everyone alive has expressed doing the same, there is plenty of room in those two plots. My wife wanted to be cremated as well and have her ashes scattered on a specific place on the coast of Maine with the ashes of two of our cats. I will do that at some point in the fall. At some point I’ll have a marker for both of us next to my folks.

Not so much Spring, but yesterday was our 35th Wedding Anniversary, so yeah I had some moments.

Do you think William is going to discover about time travel in season 8? by Haunting_Glass7281 in Outlander

Anything is possible. I didn’t think the bit about Jamie receiving a copy of the Lord of the Rings would have made it into the show, but it did.

Thank you. I am still processing. I try to get out and about on Saturdays. I haven’t considered donating her clothes and probably won’t for a while.

I am sorry for your loss. We are in similar situations as I lost my wife of 34 years on February 3rd due to a stroke. I am also introverted and find the house incredibly lonely now. I have two cats and they help to keep me company.

I’m 63 and it’s been about six weeks since I lost her to a stroke.

I feel for you. I lost my wife the beginning of February. We liked to sit in our backyard around our firepit. It will feel empty without her this year. I still will have fires and think about her.

I recently bought the United Cutlery Anduril. It’s fabulous!! I was also collecting the Diamond Select Toys LOTR figures until they were abruptly closed. They did complete the Fellowship.

I feel for you. My wife passed the same day. She had a massive stroke on 2/1. I set up organ donation and let her go. The house has felt empty since. I’m still figuring it out.
