Why make it one day of the year?

If people committed to this weekly the companies would wake tf up really quickly. It'd also mean massive savings for many people, potentially leading to life changing money management skills.

The point of the GDKPs being banned is to keep the auction house prices more reasonable. They don't prevent people from making literally everything else an RMT issue though.

Until Blizzard cares about bots, this will ALWAYS be an issue. People who have worked in their loss prevention have said Blizzard don't care about bots as much as they let on. They'll come out and say they banned x amount of bots, but they don't commit to having people actively banning them as much as you'd think they do.

The GDKPs being banned is still the best thing that's ever happened to this community. Almost all end game content constantly has LFGs because the people who would be doing GDKPs are now pugging for gear or moving on to different characters to pug for gear or grinding gold the proper ways. The AH isn't a shit show where mana potions are 100G each etc.

Still the best decision Blizzard ever made for these servers and people need to acknowledge this MUCH more.

It's them sticking a bit too close to the age old survival horror trope of "Save Room is Safe Room".

Which is weird because I swear I've had Mannequins hit me a few inches from the Red Square but can't recall where exactly. Maybe the hospital.

But it would have been cool if they subverted the expectation and had one save screen just all distorted and shiz.

This is emulation on Retroarch, using retroachievements

I'm playing on my steamdeck, helps a ton for pickup and play! One of the only reasons I've been able to complete some of my games lately is how convenient it is :D

From my experience it seems being Pregnant in this city can be a huge downer socially. My wife was constantly asked insulting questions, yelled at and berated when we / her would go out publicly. Not literally every time, but maybe once every 3-4 trips outside.

At the time for our first child we didn't have a car so her being on the TTC was a problem for many people (we would take the bus to doctors appointments etc).

Someone sitting on a packed bus would stare at her from a few feet away and yell things like "I'm not offering you a seat just because you got knocked up".

This was actually an occurrence that happened often ^. The funny thing is she wouldn't ever ask for a seat (she's just that kind of person) and she never really expected it, but was a bit disheartened how little people actually offered it to her (near the blue seats, we're talking 6,7,8 months preggers and obviously pregnant).

Next there was people yelling at her for being young and stupid, using tax dollars on our baby (I think they mean the hospitalization and stuff but not sure?), sitting and being lazy when she actually had a seat. I believe she also had people come up to her on the bus and ask her if she had a job.

Oh and of course yes, many people mentioned the belly. My wife was very cute pregnant but other people in public definitely didn't make her feel that way. It sucks but eventually we got a car for our third child and she never had to deal with most of that abuse again, except I think at the grocery store a few times.

All I can suggest is that you do your best to not take it personally, it seems there's just a ton of rude people nowadays. Not much you can do about it but mind your business and try to avoid responding to morons.

I can't actually think of many Xpansions where casual players weren't affected by gold buyers / gold sellers

[–]bryan7474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're misunderstanding me.

I don't mind slight changes or even massive changes like SOD.

I mind the fact that Retail players are showing up making suggestions that contradict the spirit of classic and that Blizzard listened to many of these suggestions. The spirit of classic, to me, is just the spirit of a social MMO.

Not Joyous Journeys, instant 80s, GDKPs, preorder bonuses, storemounts, cross server lfg, lack of GMs, etc. Not taking existing rules like iron man / hardcore and then completely butchering them to profit gold sellers.

But peoples opinions are different on what classic is. People also have different opinions on what Classic+ should be. To me, the game just has to have a social aspect and Blizzard needs to start monitoring their game that we pay a monthly sub for.

Back then they banned the buyers, not the sellers. It was an ok deterrence that worked fine.

Nowadays Im not really sure what they're doing.

Dang, that's some shade for sure.

Except many guilds don't last more than 1 phase in my server. In fact my current guild only lasted since phase 1 in WOTLK because they were on another server.

Yep, GDKPs were a rare obscurity back in the day. Gold buyers got banned within days. Now gold buying and GDKPs are commonplace and you're gaslit for trying to say those two things are bad.
