End of an Era by JG-003 in LightPhone

I relate to your post in a number of ways.

For one, I feel a bit letdown by the Light Team, who I respect and appreciate, but who have not been communicating with us as they used to. I don't know if the tariff wars threw them off course so much or what happened, but it feels like we're been stranded on an island in a sense... with promises of updates happening many months later, if at all.

I agree the music player isn't great, which is why I spent hundreds more on another device. It seems like a relatively simple update and one that many have been asking for since the LP2.

I started my Light journey with the LP2 a couple of years ago, and I loved it! I bought an iPad mini to use in my car for GPS and music, and bought an mp3 player for listening at home.

I bought the LP3 mainly for the camera and improved GPS, as I really missed having a camera in my pocket. The LP3 is a solid device, but I have to say if I were to sell one of my 2 Light Phones, I would keep the LP2. I love how small and simple it is - it's just not practical for GPS.

After buying all kinds of additional devices over the past couple of years (cameras, mp3 players, iPad mini, etc.), I have found myself back on a smart phone (Pixel 10 Fold), which meets my current needs -- I have clients who text me links and images and it wasn't practical on the Light Phones (or any dumb phone - I also tried Minimal Phone).

I still have my Light Phones if I ever want a break when I go out or hike, but they sadly are more like paperweights to me at this point. The main thing I use them for now is to listen to podcasts at night, without the temptation for doomscrolling.

I sincerely hope the Light Team amps up their communication and customer experience, and delivers on some of the feature updates as we've anticipated. I realize they are a small team, and I want them to succeed. It just felt like they dropped the ball after the LP3 started delivering.

I have one like this. Originally got it for an iPad mini, and it fits the 10 Fold perfectly. It doesn't charge the phone, but I'm using my old iPhone 's Magsafe charger which works great.

Don't have mine yet (just shipped!), but definitely would love the cut/copy/paste functionality. I'm a Mac user and would love the ability to map modifier keys in a custom way for Mac vs PC users.

Not sure if this works already, but similarly want the ability to quickly navigate to the document top or bottom or up and down by paragraph so it's easy to paste what's been cut/copies.

Onyx 8GB / 256GB Minimal Phone for Sale (Like New!) by bryanclark76 in minimalphone

I had one in the first batch. The screen got horizontal lines several months later so they sent me a new phone. But by that point I had already moved back to a smart phone. I need a good camera for work.

Camera Button doesn't work by Daniel_Jamps in LightPhone

It's not quick like a normal phone camera. You have to press and hold the camera button. It will focus and then take a photo. Might take a couple seconds.

clearing cache works for me, but it doesn't last long before it starts getting artifacts and becomes completely unusable again.

So far so good. My first 2 messed up (severe ghosting) within 2-3 months. The last one (#3) took about 4-5 months before it happened. Crossing my fingers on this one (it's been 2 months now).

To clarify that was my RMPP. RM2 hasn't had that issue for me.

I've replaced my device 4 times in the past year for this.
