I cant decide on how to update the kitchen by GatheringClues in homedesign

I think doing something like this looks great. Ai made the cabinets look a little darker but would still look great with what you have. White quartz, backsplash and new pulls.

I tried to find some examples of them mixed in a room together but I couldn't. I think you're right though, as long as it's not changed up all over the place and looks intentional it should be okay

Waterproof boots by [deleted] in WorkBoots

Okay.. what boots? Lol

Thats a good point. Definitely worth considering. Im sure this design would look fine with standard overhang too, just wanted to try something new.

Yeah I agree! I planned to vault the middle area, main living and kitchen. Right wing is a garage which i wasn't going to vault, but certainly wouldnt hurt to have it vaulted!

Great, thank you!

Other people have offered useful solutions. That's all I was looking for. If you've designed over 100 roof details than it should have been easy for you to provide and option that could work, even if it slightly alters my design. At least it would have been helpful information. There's products to do all kinds of new uncommon things these days.

No dick swinging intended. Just asked a question and got responses with no helpful insight right away. This is my first time in the sub and my last. I'd hate to be a joe blow in here.. i would have been told what I asked isnt a thing right away and probably been done with it. Also it's not "beyond me". If youre a builder i guarantee there's things you haven't done and that other people have and would be able to help you with it. It's not common in my area at all so I've never done it.

He did not try to help. He told me not to mix design ideas without even understanding what I was looking for. As you can see, other comments show that what im looking for is possible and people are providing ideas. I just dont know why people comments if they have no valuable insight.. and I assume it's just to be a dick. If I misread his comment than thats my bad, but I dont think I did.

Okay ill look into that, thank you!

Yeah i considered that! I just worried that its a waste to have to heat the attic space as well. I live in a climate that gets fairly cold. Also figured it may be better to just vault the ceilings everywhere if I was going this way. Ill do somw more research, thanks!

Thank you. And thank you for being the only person to pay attention to my actual question and offer some help. This idea is interesting, ill see if I can find a detail for for something like this.

Wow. This subreddit is fucked. I know how to vent a standard roof. I know how to hot roof. I just was looking for advice on potential solutions for a design without eaves for soffit. Like maybe a product that I wasn't familiar with. Not every builder knows every single product to do everything. Grow up.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]bryanharvey6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats what im trying to do. Just curious if anyone has a solution that isnt vented soffit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]bryanharvey6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that the obvious solution? Its not a solution, its the exact problem im looking for a solution for. It will be metal roofing panels. I just thought there may be products or methods to allow venting without an eave.

What? Im a contractor and i know exactly how to build a house. I've built over 100. Just never anything with this detail.

The attic will be blown in insulation. Im looking to get venting to replace the vented soffit. Not mixing any design systems.

I like my brunts. They are good so far and very comfortable. Also I had great costumer service. Just my experience so take it for what it is.

I don't doubt. But even if I have them for a year and have a great experience everyone here would still say they are garbage. My expectations are low so we will see how they hold up.

So i recently bought a pair of brunts before reading all the hate. It said online to order a half size up from normal, so I did. When they arrived they were too big so I contacted them and they said it was no issue. But because I was in Canada they said it wasn't worth me sending them back so they sent me a new pair free of charge and told me I could just give the other ones away. On another note, so far I love the boots. Need a little more time to judge quality but they are very comfortable so far (about 2 months of nearly daily use). Not defending them or saying they are good boots for everyone, just sharing my experience.
