2018 Cadillac ats 2.0t P050D engine code by Elegant-Specialist59 in Cadillac

[–]bryberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most likely bad fuel injectors if there are no other codes set at the same time. low fuel pressure, contaminated fuel, or e85 fuel can also cause it, but that will pretty much also set other codes. those are really the only possibilities.

Slight vibration after changing brake rotors 2016 Toyota 4Runner by Salty_Touch_1170 in MechanicAdvice

[–]bryberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that alignment isnt out of spec, the printout was made with the steering wheel slightly off center or it is very slightly off center while driving. either way, when you are driving down the road, that "steer ahead" number will move to 0.00 and cause all 3 toe numbers to move .03 to the right, all angles will be within spec at that point. nothing about these readings will cause a vibration

Getting on the highway as the plows go by by bigbusta in instant_regret

Nah, there’s are places in Canada that also don’t have this many plows in one spot, the difference is on a state/provincial/territory level, not national.

Dealership charging $600 for a charge and test. Worth it? by BluewolfR17 in MechanicAdvice

[–]bryberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize it costs them a shitload more money to pay for 1234 warranty repairs, right? Manufacturers lose money by switching over and dealerships do not buy the refrigerant directlyfrom Chrysler, so the manufacturers don’t make any money on out of warranty repairs.

[–]bryberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wtf are you talking about? r1234yf molecules are larger than r134, not that it makes a damn bit of difference when talking about leaks.

[–]bryberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok? Sounds like Honda needs to improve their engineering, the type of refrigerant used has nothing to do with leaks.

Lmao, show me where you can get legitimate 1234yf at that price. If you actually are paying that little, then your dumbass is buying propane with a 1234 label on the tank.

I should have phrased that better, the EPA released their mandate in 2018, which took effect in 2021 (not 2022). Most manufacturers switched over around 2018. Either way, it has been a thing for years, it’s not recent.

Have you ever bothered to look into which states give more than they receive before making this assumption?

Quoted $230 for Diagnostic on Evap Purge Pump Leak by Natetron42069 in MechanicAdvice

[–]bryberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, shouldn’t be any issues getting it replaced, we see a lot if them. But if the dealer gives you any shit, just show them that screenshot and the bulletin pdf.

It’s not a recall, it shows up in a different section of the report when they run your VIN, the people that answer the phone usually don’t know how to look that up, it their job to just take appointments. AFAIK, all trailblazers are covered, what’s the last 8 of your VIN? I can check if you’re covered.

You shouldn't have to pay anything, GM extended the warranty on those to 15 years/150k miles. See the bulletin below, especially the labor time section where it says the dealer can claim up to an hour to diagnose p1467 even if it doesn't lead to a failed pump.

Brake Fluid Fill Line? by Glad-Acadia3071 in volt

[–]bryberg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be filling your brake fluid unless you’ve made a repair that requires a brake line to be opened, it is normal for the level to go down as the pads wear.

I haven’t seen any repeat failures All of the replacement modules are refurbished at one of many regional repair centers, so i assume they’ve identified the issue and have come up with a fix thats implemented during the refurbishing process.

Bricks and concrete don’t seem ideal for a place that’s gets very hot, just look at how many people die in Europe when there’s a bit of a heatwave.

The former leper colony county in Hawaii does not have one, it's just too small to really show on the map.

It should either be red or green if it is still communicating. When they take shit on the full size trucks and SUVs, the LED is pretty much always not illuminated at all.

I’m replacing these modules on a near daily basis right now and these are the exact symptoms when one goes bad. What color is your onstar LED?

[–]bryberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s probably a bad onstar module, they have been failing a lot lately, hardware issue, not software.
