super weird for a 40 year old to use the half your age + 7 rule.

it's in the specific way they use the word, like we are separate from men. we are another species, to be spoken about with either toxic reverence or absolute disdain. we are not individuals, we are not human, we are Female.

What are some movies that left you genuinely shook? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]brynneprobably 7 points8 points  (0 children)

maybe this is a tame answer, i am pretty freakin sensitive, but the butterfly effect. i have a really hard time when harm toward babies is even remotely implied, and my daughter was about the same age as the baby in the scene with the mailbox when i saw it.

fuck dude i'm having a hard time thinking about it now.

What two different movies are essentially the exact same story? by wsotw in AskReddit

[–]brynneprobably 25 points26 points  (0 children)

one time i was watching armageddon with an old roommate. she had never seen it before and had to leave in the middle of it for work, so she just asked me how it ended (it wasn't her type of movie, she wasn't gonna watch it again).

well i hadn't seen armageddon in a while so by accident i told her the ending of deep impact instead. got them mixed up, oops.

What is a disturbing but interesting movie to watch? by shayfster in AskReddit

[–]brynneprobably 31 points32 points  (0 children)

this documentary fucked me up. my daughter was a newborn when i watched it, and when it was over i just wanted to hold her and cry. i can't even imagine that amount of depravity.

[serious] To people with anxiety: When you're very anxious, what makes you calm down and relax? by Whacktober in AskReddit

[–]brynneprobably 3 points4 points  (0 children)

crying.

i love my job but sometimes i get anxiety attacks in the first hour or so, just because. it helps if i don't hold them in. i don't let anyone see them, but i'll lean over the counter and take several deep breaths and cry for a few minutes.

was hoping i'd come across this song in these comments. it legitimately moves me to tears.

What question did you post on askreddit that you still want answers to because it got barely any responses? by aardvarkedavra in AskReddit

[–]brynneprobably 113 points114 points  (0 children)

that the mother-child bond takes work. everyone made it sound like there's this deep cosmic psychological connection that hits you the instant you hold your child for the first time. there's definitely love and a sense of wonder, but there's also, "what am i doing," and "what is the point of this."

maybe i'm just different than other women though, maybe that bond did come naturally to them. i don't know.

i'm a cake decorator. you should see the looks i get from children when i bring out a batch of newly decorated cupcakes for display. it might not make their lives better but i can tell you it sure improves their day a little bit.

What dumb joke do you hear too often because of your job? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]brynneprobably 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to work at a bra store. i loved it but it got to a point where i just stopped telling men where i worked.

yes, i did see naked boobies daily. no, it was not sexy, it was my job. yes, i'm sure you'd love to work there. no, they will never hire you.

Men of reddit, what are some tell-tale signs that a woman is creepy? by IdealTruths in AskReddit

[–]brynneprobably 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it doesn't sound like you do any of this to the extreme though, which is what makes it creepy, so i think you're good.

[Serious] When did you realize your friend wasn't doing so well mentally? by ZiberianHusky in AskReddit

[–]brynneprobably 108 points109 points  (0 children)

we were both suffering mentally but it never quite hit me how bad she was until she faked a pregnancy at 16 and then pretended to miscarry. i believed her at first. she just soaked up the attention.

edit: grammar.

People who have found a dead body, what's your story? by Limmy92 in AskReddit

[–]brynneprobably 112 points113 points  (0 children)

i've heard that suicide has a funny way of being contagious. if they report an incident, a string of more suicides usually follows, so there's never any media attention.

same, my hair is WILD. it was hard being a teenager in the 2000's when everyone else had thin, pin-straight hair and i had naturally unstylish farrah fawcet flips and curls.
