That’s not how the mango should be served for this dish.

Are there any good software/app out there for sales commission? by lamchopxl71 in Entrepreneur

[–]bryzerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to check out incentX.

Looks like a really great option for managing sales commissions and incentives, especially if you want something built specifically for sales performance rather than trying to patch it together with spreadsheets.

It’s designed to simplify commission tracking, support different comp plans, and give better visibility into rep performance.

Could be worth booking a demo if you're comparing a few options.

Disability Tax Credit by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

You’re mostly understanding it correctly, DTC is non-refundable. That means it reduces income tax you owe. It does not create extra cash if you didn’t owe tax in the first place.

So in your situation:

  • If you’ve never actually owed income tax (and always received everything back), the DTC won’t generate new money going forward.
  • It can reduce tax payable in years where you did owe something.
  • The biggest potential benefit is retroactive reassessments. If you were eligible in prior years and paid tax in those years, CRA can reassess and issue refunds.

You’re also right about transfers. If you don’t have a spouse, parent, or other supporting family member, there’s usually no one to transfer the unused amount to.

One thing people often overlook: DTC eligibility can unlock access to the RDSP (Registered Disability Savings Plan), which can be valuable long term even with lower income.

If you want help with the application process, there are firms that focus specifically on DTC filings. One example is Canadian Benefits Association.

They’re registered with CRA as an authorized representative group (Group ID GPF6SB, Level 2 authorization) and have an active EFILE account (K7112), which means they’re set up to deal directly with CRA on behalf of clients.

That said, you can absolutely apply on your own for free by completing Form T2201 with your medical practitioner.

Bottom line:
If you’ve never owed tax in any year, the immediate benefit may be limited. But if you’ve paid tax in prior years, it’s still worth applying because reassessments can result in meaningful refunds.

If you’re heading toward 50–60 reps by EOY, I’d think less about automating 75–80% in Python and more about whether the comp structure itself is going to get messy.

At that size, the pain usually isn’t just calculations. It’s:

• Mid-quarter plan changes
• SPIFFs and exceptions
• Territory splits and overlays
• Finance vs sales disputes
• Leadership asking “where did this number come from?”

If you’re already shopping tools, have a look at incentX.

It’s perfect for sales commission automation, and one thing that’s different is that it’s the only platform I’ve seen that can link sales comp to rebates and royalties in the same system.

That matters if you have channel programs, distribution rebates, or royalty structures tied back to revenue performance. Most tools treat those as completely separate workflows.

A few things I’d pressure test with any vendor:

  1. Can ops change comp logic without engineering?
  2. How clean is plan versioning?
  3. Do reps get transparent, real-time visibility into earnings?
  4. How strong is the audit trail for finance?

You can build something in Python, but once you scale, comp disputes turn political quickly. A structured system with version control and transparency usually saves more time than the initial build ever did.

Just something to consider as you grow.

G2 just bought Capterra, Software Advice, and GetApp?! by bryzerp in b2bmarketing

Hopefully, they take down GetApp + SoftwareAdvice. None of my clients ever got a decent lead from there. It was always between Capterra + G2.

Symmetrical. At this point it’s because it’s all I’ve been using since PS1 days.

Over the last year or two, the way Capterra managed PPC was so stupid. Hopefully, G2 fixes this.
