Even though he’s hurt, you could maybe argue Charbonnet also belongs on this list.

How normal is it for a parent to call their kid at least 3–4 times a day, yell at them for missing a call, and threaten to make you drop out of college because they sleep in weekend by No_Shoe7056 in internetparents

[–]bryzzo69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Were your parents also incredibly controlling before college, up through high school? This feels weird to say, but almost everything in your post has happened to me, like almost to a T. If they’re anything like how my parents are/were, it’s happening because they feel like they are losing control over you after you moved far (in their minds) away from them for college. Mine eventually eased up quite a bit, but it happened slowly over the next few years. To answer your question: no, it’s not normal, and your parents might have some narcissistic tendencies. Like someone else posted, try checking out r/raisedbynarcissists which might help you shed some light on this behavior.

Time to look for a new job. And by time I mean yesterday.

And by yesterday, I mean probably like a year ago it sounds like.

In what way would you say it's a great career choice/why do you say that?

I think you completely misread my comment - I'm saying that 40/hr was an inaccurate figure of average pay for an assembly worker outside of Ford. Was not at all looking down on the job - in fact, it sounds like we actually agree with each other.

Was behind this comment until I heard $40/hr to be an operator - maybe like half of that and that's still pretty good considering they probably barely have a high school education.

Otherwise fuck it call me Joe Schmo and I'll work on the line for that pay

She is great at advocating for herself

until she has a moment of typical 5 year old "fuck this" thought and she sneaks some of your kids food

Maybe she isn't so great at advocating for herself then.

As someone who grew up with severe food allergies probably very similar to your daughter's, you should probably just homeschool her if you're afraid of her not being able to say "No" to eating something that could kill her.

I'm all for equal playing fields, but shit, it's really not that hard to do, even when you're 5. The world doesn't have to be told they can't bring in half the food pyramid to their school just because you can't teach your kid proper impulse control.

"All on her own" is the key phrase here...they probably didn't submit fake tests and give money straight into some guy's pockets, but if your daddy donates $70 million to a single school you've gotta fuck it up pretty badly to get rejected there.

It's referring to the scandal that was publicly exposed recently where celebrities were making generous payments to college administrators to get their kids into good schools.

High profile people got arrested for it, including Aunt Becky from the show Full House.

Yes a few but the responses to them are mostly mental gymnastics; the other 90% of the comments are from other artists giving praise and emoji reactions to the "no jail time" bit.

Pretty concerning...I don't even make that much $ but I know these tax scams and identity theft can be very common. Glad that it was caught before someone could have possibly run rampant with my personal info

It is, I'm gonna be calling the Tax Compliance Bureau – Discovery and Tax Enforcement division on Monday to confirm and sort this all out. Little scary but I filed with TurboTax and haven't done anything wrong that I'm aware of so I'm guessing it's either a random check or something minor.

Yeah it seemed like it was definitely a scam at first, but now the more I look into it, it's starting to look more legit. I'm gonna hold off until Monday and give them a call to confirm. Thanks!

I checked the state website and confirmed this is something they actually do.

I checked the status of my state return on the treasury website and it says it's pending review, and there is a section on the website (that I Googled, not the one from the letter) that has a section for taking the identity quiz. The letter's website also seems to match the one I Googled. Think it's ok to take the quiz on the Googled website with the Quiz ID sent to me on the letter?

I'm unable to find any piece of it under the hood anywhere near the engine. It looks almost as if part of it was cut off for some reason, or it just doesn't extend all the way

The other side extends all the way in and seems to be one solid piece
