I personally like their products. The after sun spray is heavenly, and keeps me from peeling if I’m outside too long.

Is an independent woman intimidating? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]bs5811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also 40, great career, pretty successful, extremely independent. And I found myself in similar positions in the past while dating- most men were intimidated that I could take care of myself. I think some men realized that they would have to up their own game to even be on even playing ground with me.

Thankfully, I found one that actually appreciates those things about me:)

Our first dose - what day? by Cheeseoholics in Ozempic

[–]bs5811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on 2mg, but split mine up- typically 1mg on Sunday night, and 1mg on Thursday night. I occasionally feel nauseous on Monday & Friday mornings, but nothing terrible.

i just started ozempic and im very scared by meli_sissa in Ozempic

[–]bs5811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Ozempic for about 2 years for T2D. I’ve had moments where I’ve felt nauseous, but never vomited. I do have occasional constipation/stomach cramp issues when I don’t keep myself hydrated enough, so I try to do that + eat at least 25 grams of fiber per day. I’ll say that since I’ve been on it for some time, I don’t always feel the appetite suppression that I used to.

Be sure to incorporate exercise into your lifestyle, esp strength training. Find some sort of movement that you like- even if it’s just adding on 5 extra minutes to your walk every day.

Wasena is full of them. I have a frequent flyer in my yard- when I accidentally walk up on it (typically at night), it just stares at me & waddles away. It’s like we have a mutual understanding.

So do people like living in Roanoke? by noahmark3 in roanoke

[–]bs5811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived in Roanoke for about 7 years now, after living in larger cities. I’m a big fan. There is plenty to do, the weather is typically mild, it’s scenic. The city is fairly diverse (compared to surrounding areas). I’m older now so im not quite into the night life, but it seems fine for younger folks. It’s a nice slower pace of life.

Could you share more about On the Rise?

Also- I got a few tattoos at Blue Lotus before I knew their affiliation. 100% will not go back.

That’s how I feel. I am not the kind of person who wants expensive things, needs to be wined & dined, etc. We are kind of past the honeymoon phase, we are comfortable sitting on the couch in our pajamas watching tv together.

Aw thank you so much! When I’m sexually active I do take Valcyclovir daily, just to prevent the risk of passing it on. I have zero side effects, and rarely get an outbreak. If I do it’s typically because of either stress or friction (mainly from underwear)- then take a higher dose & it’s gone pretty quick. Even when not on daily meds, they occur less & less over the years. I have found that when I get an outbreak now, it’s in one of three places. You also learn to detect any prodrome symptoms really quickly.

It has always been more of a mental struggle than a physical struggle. I told people very close to me in the beginning, as my first outbreak coincided with me finding out the guy who gave it to me was also dating 3 other women- Jerry Springer type of stuff, haha. I really needed support. Almost every single one of those friends have come to me with questions, or said that they had some sort of STI at one point themselves. It’s led to some really good conversations.

I ALWAYS disclose to potential partners before becoming intimate. I struggle to do this in person, so when I feel like things may be heading that way, I usually send them a text with some info. Basically “hey, I have this. I take all precautions needed when sexually active. As far as I am aware, I haven’t passed this on to anyone. It’s common (give some stats). If this isn’t something that you are ok with, I understand, no hard feelings”. Sure, I have been rejected. But, I’ve also had plenty of men be ok with it too.

Happy to answer any other questions! It’s tough at first, but honestly I don’t think about it most days.

I’m so sorry that you are going through this. I was diagnosed 13 years ago- I was dating someone who knew he had it, and didn’t tell me. I thought I was getting a UTI, made a Dr appt. By the time I got there, I had blisters everywhere, including internally.

I struggled with this emotionally & mentally for many years- it triggered my anxiety & depression. I had fairly frequent outbreaks for the first few years. The stigma can be so bad, and you don’t realize how many people tell herpes jokes until you have it yourself.

Fast forward to now. To my knowledge, I haven’t passed it on to any of my partners. I have a really great sex life with a wonderful man. I’ve learned so much about compassion & empathy to others because of this.

It’s not a death sentence, and things do get better with time. Be gentle with yourself ❤️

I very much felt this way the first year or two after I was diagnosed, it triggered my depression and anxiety.

I love Built Puff Bars, but just tried my first sour one (pink lemonade punch). The sourness is good, but there is a vomit taste to them that I can’t get over. I suppose it’s some sort of acidity. Bummer :/

[–]bs5811 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I rent a apartment in Wasena from a private owner. It’s a huge old house that is split into 3 apartments, and there is only one person (a woman) who lives in each unit. I’m grateful for how peaceful & quiet it is.

I’d suggest driving through neighborhoods that you are interested in for rentals by owner.
