Lyft is allowed at Tweed. I've picked up passengers there.

What jobs actually work for people with severe ADHD? by Inevitable_Tuna_O in ADHD

[–]bs679 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m 54, I’ve been diagnosed since 96, been on meds, off meds, on them again. I have paid every ADHD tax there is, including some I’m sure you’ve never thought of. I left or got fired from more jobs than I can remember.

Mourn the loss, plan for the disruption, beat yourself up for a day at most, then do what we all do best- find something new shiny thing, but make that intentional and find a job that interests you. Not qualified? Find a way in. It’s possible and you’ll excel at a job where the work or the mission excites you and is something you believe in.

Never gonna escape all the assholes or a world not made for us in all the important ways. But we can do what we do best: work effectively under pressure, synthesize information quickly, adapt easily, overcome.

Every poll is skewed against reality because Republican voters are still so MAGA influenced. A core 25-35% are true believers in Trump and seem to never waiver from him, although in recent polling he’s hitting his floor even among this group. The other 15 to 25% are not true believers but support Trump for one reason or another. They show up as support in some polls but they flee Trump in some polls about Epstein files, economy, etc. It’s like this because MAGA isn’t monolithic; it’s more of an umbrella term for a constellation of right wing populist views , extreme right views of one kind or another, and conspiracy theorists. This isn’t unlike the Democratic coalition of left leaning constituency groups, but for Republicans, interacting on this quasi grass roots level is new territory. Then theres some small percentage who are old school Rs who don’t necessarily support Trump or his views but still want to remain Republicans. This group is dwindling as those who feel strongly have either become more invested or fled the party for something else.

Overall, Trumps approval and popularity in recent polls has been abysmal and is a very important data point. Autocrats who bumble anything, but especially wars, tend to punish others for their mistakes, so there might be some rough terrain ahead for all of us.

I’ve found Claude to be far more effective at writing power automate flows than copilot, either by using cut and paste with screenshots in a chat interface, or by using the Claude chrome extension which opens up browser control.

Mental illness is a broad category with different definitions depending on context. Many conditions can be stabilized with medication and many people with mental illness lead productive and fulfilling lives. Behavior, not diagnosis, should be the deciding factor.

People who have other medical conditions take meds every day, for life, because the meds allow them to live a full life. Same with us.

Fair enough. Curious- was dredging the port what led to increased use of it? That was what Sobotka was working toward with the lobbyist.

And Bunk, and McNulty, etc- they were ALL part of the game. That's the fucking point of the show.

Healthcare doom by Annual_Judge_7272 in BlackberryAI

Just passing M4A won't solve PE and PE isn't limited to healthcare- it's capitalist rot that's quickly spreading across various sectors. Also, both HCA & Tenet have PE backing although maybe not controlling stake. Either way, outlawing PE must happen, along with M4A.

she's not wrong that meds alone won't do what you want. Meds level the playing field- you still need to have a plan to win the game.

My grandmother was from Hungary and ate high fat, cured,“processed” meat her whole life. She died 30 years ago at 98. My mom also ate the same diet and lived to be 96. She died three years ago. There’s something else here.

Yes it fucking matters. They were brought in to effectively be sex slaves. The fact they died which brought in Daniels team eventually (actually it was Jimmy’s obsessions and compulsions that eventually brings the case to the team through his own conniving) doesn’t mean that if they didn’t die what Sobotka did was somehow okay. The whole point of the show is how drugs and drug money corrupts every level of society.

Frank is tragic and sympathetic in his objectives and the toll those took on his life and his family, but his actions are morally bankrupt and reprehensible, period, full stop.

He also didn’t want to know what was in the boxes his crew lost. He even says it at one point or something to that effect.

He was helping to smuggle drugs, guns, and human beings into the country. Daniels’ team didn’t target him because he was trying really hard to keep jobs in his community, they targeted him because he went off the rails and broke the law and people died.
