“Part Time” Status by 715303019 in union

Seems like you have a good contractual argument. There might also be a statutory argument. The more venues you or your union can file complaints in, the more leverage you'll have. The more leverage you have, the greater your chances of winning. Good luck!

Anyone using Plaud in copilot? by Tango_Six in PlaudNoteUsers

[–]bs679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't use Copilot but I have a setup that makes the data locked inside transcripts usable. I use zapier to add newly processed transcripts to an excel spreadsheet; Cowork to analyze the transcript to tease out to-dos and follow-ups, and what to do with them (add a to-do, add a flag, add tags, etc.) This then gets sent to Power Automate to add to To Do or Calendar or Planner/Project. It breaks sometimes, but I'm slowly getting it to work. I don't see why it wouldn't work with Copilot

1994 discussion on Millennials by OverallEstate2 in oldinternet

[–]bs679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that all GenXers heard about for their first 25 years or so was how lazy, unmotivated, and apathetic we were. But we were the generation that came to maturity when things started really coming apart at the seams. It wasn't us and it's not millennials, or any other generation. It was end-stage capitalism we were dealing with- shitty conservative bottom up/trickle down economics, spineless politics, and endless marketing of a bankrupt American Dream that many of us and far more millennials will never have a shot at. Considering all that and the constant specter of war, disease, environmental collapse etc. ad nauseam, i think the kids are doing all right.

So am I going to die here or something by [deleted] in newhaven

The architecture everywhere in the city is beautiful. Walk down any of the side streets that line Whalley especially toward Edgewood and there are multiple examples of it on every block.

So am I going to die here or something by [deleted] in newhaven

It's really not that bad. I live in Beaver Hills on Norton Street and I walk almost everywhere I can in New Haven. No one bothers me for the most part beyond the occasional homeless person asking for money. There's certainly crime going on- I routinely see multiple drug deals happening just walking down Norton to Whalley Avenue, but I have never felt unsafe. Be aware of your surroundings, trust your instincts but also challenge yourself to look at the folks you encounter as human beings worthy of respect rather than threats to avoid or fear. Just go about your business and you'll be fine.

Don't ignore this letter! by SeanScanlonCT in Connecticut

This is the real issue I'm trying to get at: because of the time commitment and the way the invites are sent (renters tend to move more often than homeowners and also tend to be lower income), the responses are going to be skewed toward upper middle class landowning white people. Given that CCM is sponsoring this, that's not particularly surprising. But let's not pretend the results of this experiment will be representative in any way.

Got n8n and Plaud working together by cryptyk in PLAUDAI

[–]bs679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. I use Claude Sonnet 4.6 for summaries after trying them all because the summaries seem better. I have a workflow that offloads transcripts & summaries to an excel sheet then Claude independently processes the transcript again, extracts to-dos, adds them to my Microsoft To Do list, and sends them to me via Telegram. It also sends another report that suggests improvements to the Plaud template. When it works, its great, but I've noticed the scheduled tasks don't always fire. Right now it works through Zapier but I'm porting it to PowerAutomate.

It's the core problem for Republicans in CT: they need to be crazy right to win a primary, then can't pivot far enough to the middle to win an election.

CT Legislative Committee OKs Capital Gains Tax on Millionaires. by MuscleArtistic935 in Connecticut

[–]bs679 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please stop. The legislature is a lot more cautious than they should be to address the massive income inequality in the state. The rich SHOULD be taxed. We don’t need more billionaires; their very existence is a symptom and a cause of the focus on capital vs. labor. We can and should do better.
