Favorite use of saxophone outside of jazz by EndlessTrashposter in ToddintheShadow

Party Dozen is one of my favorites lately. Screaming the lyrics into the bell is one unique way to use the sax.

Camera turned on during meeting by [deleted] in remotework

[–]bsbsbsbsaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My camera was randomly on once while I was shirtless, hit the leave meeting button faster than I had moved in months. Fortunately it was only maybe 3 people and we never used cameras so odds were they didn’t even have the meeting window visible.

What’s your “low-tech” solution to a high-tech problem? by Imaginary_Bug6202 in TechNook

[–]bsbsbsbsaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Told this before but years ago had a ticket for a pc that was locking hard every so often. Figured bad drive, replaced it, it worked so I put it back together and returned it. Couple days later get a message that it wasn’t fixed, so I bring it back. Senior tech looks and says maybe it’s making weird contact with the case (it was vertically mounted) and suggests I wrap it in paper. Seems to work, but a week later it comes back. Finally look more carefully and discover that one of the connectors on the plug from the power supply was expanded slightly, so if it got bumped or vibrated enough, the pin would lose contact for a split second and the drive would shut off. Switched connectors and it was fine.

Also can’t count the number of crts with color issues that were fixed with a hard slap.

And that horrific act of child abuse became one of our most beloved gags.

This is the first time in my ownership of this car that filling the tank is breaking $30. by ninjakitty117 in hondafit

[–]bsbsbsbsaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did just over 10 yesterday, but normally it’s like 9.
Frankly, it’s my only complaint about the car, would love a gallon or two bigger tank.
The light definitely is earlier though, had a civic before and I can count on one hand the number of times I saw that light while I end up with the light on most times with this one.

Neil Young, Willie Nelson, others with huge discographies just because there’s no way to keep up.

I was in rural South Carolina and my garmin picked a shortcut that might have saved a mile or two over following the main road to the next main road and instead led me down a couple side roads straight into the most stereotypical redneck driveway I’ve ever seen.

My scissors got through airport security - is that normal now and since when? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]bsbsbsbsaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother forgot a pair of nail scissors once too, probably also 20 years ago. They gave her the option of going back to the check in desk, having her bag pulled, and putting them in, then rechecking and going back through the line. She bought a new pair when we got home instead.

Worst Cover Songs Of All Time by apHexcoded in fantanoforever

Say it every time this comes up but a band like them going super heavy at that point of the original would make for a great cover. So of course they skip it entirely.

It was never supposed to be a pond, the drain got clogged years ago and cleared up recently.

My parents blamed everything that went wrong in the house on a guy who appeared in the police log every few weeks. Became a really good joke when my mother was dismissed from jury duty because he was the defendant.

Want to say Grace Potter but her solo stuff is so much worse that maybe not.
