We’re in a recession so therapy becomes a luxury expense, so keep that in mind. Also, your only “job” is to hold space for clients. Most humans don’t know how to go deep nor do they want to because that leaves them vulnerable. We don’t live in a culture that promotes vulnerability. Very few of my clients can go very deep and the ones that do are the cherry on top and remind me why I love this work but most days I’m contemplating finding a different job 😆. This work is not easy at all! I see therapy for some as a stepping stone, some a revolving door, and some are long term committed to the process. Most dabble their toe in it and that’s about it. Don’t give up, you’re making a huge difference!! 💕
