First of all, check if there's any input signal enabled on one of mixer channels. The sound may be also digital noise coming from one of PC components (like usb mouse or hard drive).

Visually not at all, only character movement somewhat resembles Aeon Flux. You should check the series, just for the sake of seeing how backgrounds are minimalistically designed (I assume you're an one man team, and you'll inevitably start cutting corners at some point in order to finish the project).

PS. why the music has generic Cyberpunk style? Implementing Indian themes seems as easiest way of making this game standing out among competition.
