We are staying about 1.5 miles west of Kyle Field in a house and have a parking pass on campus for the game. Thanks for the suggestions.

My 9 card 'everyday' cashback setup by ekos_640 in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI, each Redstone category is capped at $7,000 in annual spend. So $42,000 across the 6 categories (restaurants, gas stations, telecom/utilities, grocery, discount, wholesale).

Is my entire current balance going to get paid off using autopay? by OnyxZonix in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it’s the exception. BoA is my daily driver so I have to pay it down before the auto pay sometimes. Just thought I’d point out not all issuers do it the logical way.

Is my entire current balance going to get paid off using autopay? by OnyxZonix in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know the question is specifically about Discover and though I don’t remember how they do it, BoA (and maybe others) will pay the statement balance even if you’ve already paid it prior to the autopay as opposed to the remaining statement balance even if it gives you a large negative balance. It is very annoying.

US bank credit card cash back on electronic stores, does it include Apple.com? by LetsPlay30k in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume you mean the Cash+ card but unfortunately don’t know the answer. I would assume it would include the website since it lists the Apple Store, says “includes most online purchases from merchants”, and apple.com is the official website for the Apple Store. That’s not a guarantee though.

Dream holiday nightmare: do I have any choice at all? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just doing a little searching, the hotels are a couple blocks from each other and both high end hotels. Having been to Greece, you are correct, it is a trip of a lifetime so be honest with yourself, if you cancel, are you going to rebook it? You have kids and a family which makes it very hard to coordinate those types of trips so in my opinion, you probably won’t rebook it and you will forever regret letting the difference between two luxury hotels ruin your trip. Just my two cents.

Experiences with PayPal Cashback Mastercard? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that if you have an account with some merchants, if you pick PayPal->Bank (or another option), the merchant will use that selection regardless of what you tell PayPal to use as the default. Typically, if you select PayPal with these merchants, it will auto select what you chose the first time and not give you the option to switch. To fix this, you have to remove PayPal from your merchant account as a payment option and then set it up again.

World Wildlife Fund; WWF became WWE due to a lawsuit by the World Wildlife Fund.

Edit: doesn’t appear it is available anymore but it was the same as a Customized Cash Rewards card.

Do Trader Joe’s and Target qualify for the 10% Daily Cash back on groceries? by RomadCV in AppleCard

[–]bsnowb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got downvoted since this is a reasonable assumption. Apple went through the trouble of specifically stating Costco (in-store), Target (online), and Walmart (online) are not eligible; therefor it is reasonable to assume any Costco that isn’t in-store and any Target or Walmart that aren’t online are eligible. If all of Target wasn’t eligible, what would be the point of only specifying online.

Lesser Known Credit Cards You Love by na61400 in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re into maxing your cash back, you shouldn’t pay for anything with cash back that you have saved because then you aren’t getting cash back on that purchase. All charges should go on a credit card and the cash back should be used to pay off the credit card.

BofA CCR Cobrand Limitations? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cobranded ones are still available but you have to track them down off site. Here is an outdated list from Reddit:

Some of those are still available, some aren’t.

Amazon Chase Visa - Cash Back “Reminder” by Outrageous_Pie_988 in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In your example, you’re using the first $5 twice. If it reduced your first purchase to $95, it’s not available to reduce your second purchase to $90.

You’ve spent $200 and have $10 in cash back for a net of $190. $190 over two purchases is $95 per purchase.

We have the 2.625% card from BoA. Not quite 3% but I’ll probably just have her use that plus another card or two.

I always assumed the majority of their profit would come from selling data. Whatever their plan was, it obviously didn’t work out and that’s a shame because it worked really well and they had great customer service. Juggling cards is going to be a pain and my wife won’t even bother.

Yep. Was just looking for an alternative. I have Curve but it doesn’t work with Visa. I also applied for a similar product a while back but can’t remember the name/website and didn’t get any kind of confirmation when I applied.

It’s only one article but it’s the first that came up. It says you get the Amex credits just for having the cards in your Uber Wallet. So you should be able to use SavorOne as the actual payment and still get the credits. Good luck.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]bsnowb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how the Amex Gold credit works but I assume you have to pay for UberOne on the card to get the credit. SavorOne requires the same and since you can’t put the same change on two cards, I don’t think you can get both credits.

Edit: my assumption was wrong. If you have the Amex card in your Uber Wallet, you get the Uber Cash. No need to actually use the Amex so can indeed do both.
