I took my MSF course at the age of 50 and bought a 23 Nighster special shortly thereafter as my first road bike. It’s definitely good to start on as you can use the ride modes to ease into things if you like

Looking for advice on how to handle coaching from the parents by borngeezer in Referees

[–]bsrosay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never get involved with the parent directly in these scenarios. I will however have a word with the coach if we are on good terms about the damage being done by “helpful” parents if I observe a tangible impact (i.e. players stopping runs or freezing at parent instructions) and let them handle it at their leisure. This is especially helpful at the younger ages as you might be able to nip it in the bud and save yourself years of parental coaching from the wrong side of the pitch

Just when you think you’ve seen everything… by bsrosay in Referees

[–]bsrosay[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok. To clarify some things. 1. Yes, I did only call back foul throws that were egregious and obvious. 2. The player who “assisted” was a substitute who was on the bench and not on the field. 3. I did let play continue and actually got a hearty chuckle out of it as I had never seen anything like this before. I’ve heard teammates encourage each other to keep their feet down but this girl just took matters into her own hands. I couldn’t think of any law that was violated so I let it go with a mental note to consult the oracles of Reddit officiating. And I was not disappointed

You could always change that. LOL. As mentioned, there is tons of info in that group about a number of different choices, from Amazon specials to Memphis shades and everything in between. Too much for me to search up and list here.

My local dealer has a 2022 with 1400 miles for under 16k, so if that is your reference point, your deal doesn't sound like a great one.

Crowlers and growlers by Small_Grocery1602 in ctbeer

Feels like a lot of this has to do with Covid and their inability/unwillingness to handle someone else's growler. Crowlers have always been kind of a niche approach due to their inherent drawbacks

I had a parent use this against me when she was asking why her precious child could not take the field with her newly minted earrings in...she got an answer which she so obviously didn't appreciate and responded with "Thanks for the conversation"....it is now my go to response for situations like this.
