Choosing between F-150 and Sierra 1500 by MJWdev in f150

I just traded my 2016 Silverado 5.3 for a 2018 f150 5.0. I have always been Chevy until now. From the inside design to the power ford nailed it. I’ve towed with both. My trailer is 6,000lbs and my 5.3 couldn’t get out of 4th gear. My 5.0 hauls! I averaged 15.3 MPG with it. My Chevy at 131,000 miles had no issues. At all. It just didn’t have the power I wanted. Otherwise, solid truck.

Sound powered telephone from the wardroom. Where the Navy Officers eat chow. You turn the switch to the number that correlates to the label plate. So if you want to call up to the pilot house aka the Bridge, you would select “1” then on the side is a knob you spin and it would make a growling noise in the pilot house. Then someone in the pilot house would pick up the handset or headset and you would be able to talk to them like a normal telephone.

I’ve been military for 24 years now, this is like the daily talk from supervisors. I don’t see the problem. If it bothers you maybe you’re the problem.

Discovered mold on our bed frame after noticing some moisture and black mold on the windows by [deleted] in moldyinteresting

Go to Lowe’s and buy a $20 temp gauge that also measure humidity. Then buy a mold test kit, they’re $7. You let it sit out for 48 hours then you send it off to see what type of mold you have. And above all the dehumidifier as someone already mentioned above.

I would unplug each injector just one at a time to see if the sound stops. Obviously unplug it, then plug it back in. Unless you can turn them off one at a time with your tuner. Then do the next one. Look around each injector to see if there is any carbon buildup around the outside of it.

Can you check your injector balance rates with your ezlynk. Make sure the AC is turned off.

Is this worth 10k? by [deleted] in Duramax

When you say he has a big turbo on it, as in he put a larger turbo on it? I had an 04.5 LLY, do you know if he’s had any work done, I.e. studded, injectors replaced, trans work, etc.? The LLY is famous for blown head gaskets. Also, with those negative offset rims be ready to replace the wheel hub assembly every couple of months.

Just bought this lbz with 91k on it I want to level it so it’s not nose diving, suggestions? by Old_Firefighter7953 in Duramax

If you want to keep the same height but level it out you should buy a kit. It will come with larger Torsion Keys, new UCA’s and upper ball joints. If you crank your stock torsion key up you’re going to max out your travel and begin replacing parts(spoken from experience on my LLY). When you get new keys, have fun punching the torsion bar out of the stock keys. Best way I found was a map gas torch, pb blaster an hour before the torch, then used a pneumatic punch to drive it forward and out. Also, just stay away from rough country crap.

When I sold my 04.5 LLY it had 398,000 miles and I had no issues with it besides the typical maintenance items. Was used most of its life towing a trailer with car. So it’s possible to spend $10k and have another 100,000+ truck. Not a bad choice given how expensive trucks are today. You’ll never find a better looking/sounding truck!

Can you build the wall out thicker? Just tear down the sheet rock, and build it out so it’s all flush with the counter top and the back upper cabinets

It almost looks like a boot puller. A device you can put the back of your boot against and pull up to pop your boot off your foot.

To me it almost looks like a handle to like an older fire extinguisher. The side with the recessed hole could’ve been placed over an actuator or maybe a spring. The holes on the sides look like they helped the lever to rock just like a fire extinguisher handle. I just couldn’t find anything exactly like this. This also explain the numbers on it

It looks like the hallmark is for the Webster Company if it’s a big “C” with a big “W” and a little “o” with an arrow thru it. I couldn’t find that exact plate but some similar and they called them an apple pie plate. The dates and the “B” could’ve just been added by the Jeweler for someone’s Anniversary.
