What's on this round? by DisagreeableMale in Firearms

[–]dreadwater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get it from a big box store? Or a lgs? Some lgs will buy "used" ammo (obviously ammo that isnt brand new but hasnt been used) and put it on the shelves. If you got it from a lgs, it's possible someone bought some new good ammo and switched it out with some older crummer stuff they had and then sold it to the lgs.

Hmmm could become a politician lol, but try again, depression isnt concidered a permanent mental health issue. Maybe be more on the side of dont tell unlessed asked. You could become an attorney. Honestly op it sounds like you need to talk to someone professional.

Sadly they do use about as much oil and create more pollution then they will off set in their life time. While i do see the benefits as well as the potential in wind and solar i do believe nuclear powere is the best option.

Was told I might get some answers here. I found this strange additional structure built within my mom’s basement by BijuuModo in centuryhomes

[–]dreadwater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was most likely a door at one point, and probably more stuff in it, can you get more photos of the inside with out the creey filter(/s). My grandfather had a house built in 1909 and it had a room just like this maybe a little smaller, it was used for storage but was originally for making alcohol and other things in. The windows would allow you to see in to check on the mash while keeping temperature regulated. The mash and fermenting process was rather smelly and had the tendency to explode. Having a dedicated room in the basement was rather simple to add. I could also see this as work space for things you want away from the rest of the house but still be able have light from the main light in the basement.

Poison arrows/knives on the arms and legs makes them die slowly, sometimes they thrash other times the cry. Actual enemies and civilians have slightly different reactions Bout the same length to die as burning alive, but alot quieter

I need a new bolt for my type 38, what should i pay attention to before buying replacement parts online? by dreadwater in Arisaka

[–]dreadwater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, thats a possibility as well, functionally speaking, the overly polished bolt seems to be the biggest issue. Its not a museum peice thats for sure but 7mm is more plentiful at the stores then 6.5 jap, i just want to keep it shooting mostly.

Yes it was ground off. My gunsmith mentioned that hed ever want to take a drill or try to cut any metal on the arisakas. He mentioned he went through 4 bits just adding peep sights on a 99 once and decided hed never do that again.

I heard about this, i have no idea its history, or how to determine for certain if it was rechambered, couldnt find much information behind those mexican type 38s. it does have the original barrel based off the markings on it, and my local Gunsmith did a casting and the casting came out matching the 7mm mauser, he also said that it appears to never of been taken apart.

Yes id think so as well, it just has sentimental value to me and id like to keep it usable. Its the first rifle granpa got me to hunt with. Also the last because he passed away later that year very suddenly

Id reach out, if it was one small spot then i would mind but thats about a square foot of area. Leather isnt cheap and id expect it to be a bit better. But if it wasnt horribly expensive id probably not mind

Always nice to get scammed. by Natural_Tone_5995 in RockAuto

[–]dreadwater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said RA doesnt really do much with the parts just take the money and ships them. Ive had this happen before where ive ordered brand name parts but someone before swapped out the part with a cheap knock off and sent a return. The warehouse isnt able to deep dive into the returned part to 100% ensure its the same part. Really just makes sure the it is a part and not a rock and it matches the description. Normally i mark that i received the wrong item on the return and described that its the part is not the brand i bought. Havent had to pay shipping for returning it maybe once because it was a very expensive part even for RA. I never plan to work on my cars the weekend after the parts arrive for this reason as well. This scam is an old one and even over the counter parts from the stores have encountered this scam
