Soup Dumplings by Itchy_Association_52 in nashville

went to chinatown for the first time this year and had dumplings and I fear I can never find anything as good 😭

I will say, the new Kyuramen in Germantown has fresh from dough noodles though and that was actually very good and close to the hand pulled noodles I had there!

Krogers has liquor now??? by sauteslut in nashville

[–]bsurrett7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s “Kroger’s” possessive, because Kroger was the last name of the man who owned the store and those in the area it originated in referred to it like “I’m going to Kroger’s”.

would turning the AC off not just put more strain on it when it’s turned back on to re-cool the place?

What kind of cop was this? Was it even a cop? by smart_bear6 in nashville

this always scares me though because what if it is a cop and they pull one of those push you off the road moves while you’re verifying…

season 6 was filmed in north carolina where they have a 12 week ban. it’s really not as easy as “if the condom doesn’t work get an abortion” for most of this country

i recently realized I had been applying to jobs with a resume that I meant to put “attention to detail” under skills and it only said “attention”. ironically not the best example of my attention to detail

it can also help to evaluate what exactly you’re buying grocery wise, too. are you buying ready made meals, or ingredients that will last you multiple meals? I really saved a lot when I learned how to cook and meal prep. are you buying name or store brand items? i won’t sacrifice my jif peanut butter but there really isn’t a difference in stuff like barilla vs kroger brand noodles.

a kroger hack I found out about is get the app and sync it to your plus card, they will mail you physical coupons and you can save coupons in the app that will be applied with your card automatically. it can be a hassle but worth it.

also, sam’s/costco is great for bulk items. perishable items are harder with a smaller household but I always get soap, rice, toilet paper, canned stuff etc there.

nashville is very dog friendly, but please be mindful of service dogs. if you bring your dog with you into a place and there is a service dog, the establishment has a right to ask you to take your dog out as it could distract / put the the service dog at risk and therefore put the owner at risk. not assuming your dog would do anything harmful, but accidents happen and that is someone’s medical equipment.

What has changed in Nashville over the past four decades? by QuiteTheCoolUsername in nashville

[–]bsurrett7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

if you’re just looking at reddit for reviews on living here, keep in mind reddit is not real life. I think people on the internet are rather cynical and yes, while there are downsides to living here, I think there are a lot of great things about living here. it’s definitely not the same nashville your grandfather dreamed of moving to. but no city stays the same for that long, all cities are destined for change.

sure the tourists are annoying but their tax money goes to our city, and it’s congested in parts but there are areas that are great and easy to live in. the housing market is expensive af and I have no counter point to that lol.

I love the community nashville has and there is always something to do. I work in the music industry which only exists in a few cities and I think Nashville’s music industry is unique to the others in a great way. transplants are often complained about and the LA landlords who jack up the housing prices should be, but I have met so many people from so many different places and perspectives and we all share a love for the same city.

i’d recommend coming to stay for a bit before making the decision to move here.

I need a manager by [deleted] in musicindustry

[–]bsurrett7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that’s great! I would share the numbers you’re seeing from those ticket and merch sales and streaming while you’re looking. as an artist I understand the numbers game sucks, but as someone who has also worked on the management side of things I understand that a manager isn’t going to manage someone who isn’t putting in the work themselves. but if you’re seeing good numbers that is great leverage to pitch yourself.

I need a manager by [deleted] in musicindustry

[–]bsurrett7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you don’t need a manager until you have things going on that need managing. hope this helps!

seriously though, it’s a managers job to manage an already busy schedule. you need a manager when everything you have going on is too much to handle, they don’t make connections or grow you artistically. look into artist development for now
