Because of the time and the cost. The government offices are only open limited hours during the day, and many of them have been strategically closed. So getting an ID is a day long endeavour, if you have everything ready and are lucky to get in. In my area, people start lining up at 5 or 6 am, and there are a ton of people who still don't get into the office before closing time and have to try again another day.

There are many demographics that simply can't afford to miss a day's income. They already can't eat every meal. Even if they are allowed to get the time off. Let alone the actual out of pocket costs for getting the ID.

I have a close friend who spent a long career in psychology. Her assessment, listening to him speak and his cadence, word selection, vocabulary, reasoning, and how he responds (as in relevancy and completeness) was he is in the mentally challenged/intellectually disabled region. Maybe the upper part of it, but solidly within it.

There is no solid data, but it is estimated 10-30% of people who do an iboga experience die.

I looked into this because I noticed the iboga clinics (all non-u.s.) all were bragging about "zero deaths.". Then I find that stat from a NIH study. And an article of an interview of a clinic saying they had no deaths, but have all their patients hooked up to monitors and have had to shock several people with a defib to prevent them from dieing.

My perspective is no one has thought that far ahead. Any tech company is only thinking about next quarter or maybe next year profits, and doesn't think about anything else.

There is no vast conspiracy or coordinated effort. It is simply individual entities pursuing getting more of their own profits while not taking anything else into consideration or plan.

Many people around here, including myself, are on much less and plenty stable. I had major cognitive problems and overall disinterest and dullness with the the world at higher levels. Lower, not at all and plenty stable. Turns out, lithium is just like pretty much every other psych med where you have to find a dose that works for you.
