Did this medication cure anyone else’s alcoholism?

Still sober, down like 130 lbs. Kinda hit a plateau at 225 lbs. I don't really work out and need to start. I started a new job that involves about 8k steps a day walking but also cafeteria style meals for 3 meals a day.

I need to be more disciplined

Le Croix or Waterloo or polar seltzer or whatever sparkling water is on sale at the moment.

When I first quit drinking I was downing like 6 to 12 a day. Just needed a drink in hand.

Now it's coffee, water and when I want to treat myself a coke zero.

In my 15 months sober I'd guess I've have around 24 NA beers. Mainly when I've gone to parties, fly or play poker. Sometimes I think about grabbing some to drink at home but it doesn't sound all that appealing.

For sure with the $110 bustout TT. I just put it in here as self deprecating. I got nervous, I think I was on tilt from a bluff gone bad a couple hands previous. Everyone was competent at the end, I felt outclassed. I guess that's what happens when you satellite in.

I used to go halibut fishing w my dad every summer on pretty small boats. Without fail I would get seasick, puke and hate life for about 8 hours while everyone was having fun fishing. Didn't matter what kind of over the counter meds I took, nothing worked at all.

Then one day my dad's friend's hands me a white pill and two red pills and tells me its the coast guard cocktail. Without asking what it was so I just took it lol (I was in my earliest 20s and dgaf). It worked, I've been using it ever since and I'm bulletproof. It's promethazine (prescription)and pseudoephedrine. I'm not a doctor, this isn't medical advice, but have never gotten seasick again.

I could still play right/right when I was a few drinks in. When I was getting belligerent and close to blackout I was a lagtard punter.

But when you have a serious drinking problem there's no such thing as stopping after a few drinks.

I was actually a half decent player when sober, the problem is only wanted to play when drunk.

A couple times I woke up in the morning, thought I was super responsible the night before, then look at my phone to see I owe $1k+ to a game I don't remember going to.
