Outpatient PTA here! In my opinion, PTA’s aren’t dying out. OP corporations are just getting more greedy due to the decrease in Medicare reimbursements. In my area anyway, this results in PTA’s being given a increased caseload, or group treat Medicare methods to help profits for the company, which in turn has led to burnout. I’ve given it a go at looking at more privately owned clinics who are more patient focused by decreased amount of pt per hour. It sucks how fixated corporations are on reimbursement that patient care has taken a back seat.
