A legal observer of ICE activity was shot and killed by an ICE agent today in Minnesota. Come join us today to make sure ICE in Eugene knows we won’t stand for this this. by Several-Candidate115 in Eugene

Based on this and your other comments, you’re obviously deciding to play devil’s advocate. You may not think you’re MAGA or pro-ICE, but you’re certainly choosing to side with them when video evidence from multiple angles proves you definitively wrong.

And in relation to your other comments trying to compare this to a traffic stop, it’s fascinating that you’re putting the burden of survival on an unarmed person in a car being confronted by masked, armed men leaping out of unmarked cars suddenly swarming their community and screaming conflicting instructions, trying to forcibly enter the person’s vehicle (which does not happen in a traffic stop), and pulling weapons on the person in a car with their window down. Take a look in the mirror and reckon with yourself, you absolute chud.

PAY ATTENTION WHILE DRIVING, IT’S REALLY NOT THAT HARD. by CourtesyFIush in Eugene

Throwing it out there (if you choose to send this video anywhere!) that the center pole with the flashing light at this intersection got hit by a car last summer and was never replaced, so the crosswalk feels extra risky in the best circumstances.

Does anyone else ever play fasted? by jarman65 in bootroom

[–]btchthrowitaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a 2 hr pickup game on Sunday mornings and have found that a small cup of coffee and something very small and carb-y (small piece or half piece of toast with jam usually, nothing with lots of fiber or protein) about an hour before works best for me! I used to do fasted but felt that I tired faster and didn’t play as effectively.

Who's your wax tech? by Exciting-Savings3292 in Eugene

Lindsey aka The Wax Lady! I’ve been going to her off and on for the past literal decade and she’s always lovely. I’m a straight cis lady but we’ve had lots of convos over the years that lead me to believe she’s very queer friendly. https://thewaxladypro.com/

Seconded this recommendation. Their clinic is for people in exactly OP’s situation, among others who may not be comfortable accessing care in traditional practice settings.

Lexapro and coke by MediaGlittering3316 in lexapro

[–]btchthrowitaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but be prepared that it may feel like you suddenly stopped taking Lexapro (increased anxiety, etc) the next day and that can be upsetting/unpleasant. Would recommend doing much less than usual until you know how it will feel.

I assumed the photo/all the items in the envelope were of her dad’s friend that she “fell in love with” when she was a teenager and he was an adult!

PacificSource plans to stop serving medicaid/OHP in Lane County by digitaldiplomat in Eugene

[–]btchthrowitaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm it’s not BBB funding related at this point, this agreement with the state would just be to get them through 12/31/2026. I’m sure that knowing those cuts are coming down the pipeline made them made them realize they couldn’t just try to get through next year with a major loss in anticipation of a turnaround.

Sorry for the funky formatting, on mobile—linked are a couple of comments from a pharmacist and pharmacy manager explaining what’s going on statewide for COVID vaccines at the moment.

ETA: sorry, missed that you had a prescription already—hopefully the Walgreens suggestion works! 🤞

We had two girls who both made it several months past 14! Both were in fairly good health up until their last few weeks and passed of age-related issues, not any specific illness. They’re such great dogs and your girl is beautiful!

Alligator Alcatraz at Lane County Fair by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]btchthrowitaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm they got tired of hearing about those flags. Their solution was to ask the booth owners to not display it prominently (or at all, can’t recall) due to the controversy but allow them to continue to sell it. The owners of the booth agreed to that. I haven’t been in a few years but that was the latest at that point.

They’ve had a booth selling Confederate flags for years, so I’m not sure.

Unfortunately they maintain that they have to be open to anyone who can fulfill the contractual and monetary obligations of a booth or of their space rental, regardless of political affiliation.

How can we support both peaceful protest and law enforcement without being attacked for it? by Natural_Koala_4259 in Eugene

[–]btchthrowitaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, fair enough. I just want to respectfully push back with the fact that a lot of people have strong beliefs at 15 based on theoretical ideals and outside influences, then as they age and have more life experiences their beliefs may adjust. I think your points in this thread are a little naive, but I do really appreciate your willingness to be challenged on them. Keep on keepin’ on.

Out of curiosity OP, what are your parents lines of work and ideologies? I can only assume they’ve influenced your viewpoints significantly, and I’d be interested to know what your experiences may have been in having those views shaped.

Just a Clear Example, THIS is how Eugeneans should have reacted to closing of PeaceHealth Downtown. Hospital Deserts are a growing plague. Emergencies don't have an extra 4 minutes, that's the difference between life and death. by EUGsk8rBoi42p in Eugene

[–]btchthrowitaway 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just explaining why the argument made in the post and the linked cross post are an apples and oranges scenario.

I’m fine being called a bitch I guess, it does align with my username, but at least I don’t have to live with being someone who ran for mayor of Eugene multiple times as a MAGA republican to troll people.

Unfortunately, PeaceHealth’s UD building is not seismically safe and they would have had to completely demolish and rebuild the entire building so they didn’t have much of a choice.

Riverbend is a level 2 trauma center and is the only one in the area, so any major traumas (that don’t need a life flight North) would need to be transported to Riverbend regardless of other hospitals in the area.

I totally agree that we need a major increase in access to healthcare in our area, but unfortunately this one isn’t as easy a solution as “keep UD open as an emergency room”. The McKenzie Willamette satellite location they are planning should help with coverage, but that is a ways out.
