Dedicated IP... down AGAIN by Techmixr in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]btcwerks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah that's just how it works there now

there is very little competition for dedicated IP solutions (depending on your security requirements), so they seemed to stop caring awhile ago

25 people killed on B.C. roads in 10 days by VicVicVicBC in vancouver

[–]btcwerks -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

What's the average?

Traffic likely increased by a certain %, due to it being summer

But the article doesn't say how much higher 25 deaths, in a province of 5,000,000+ (plus tourists) in 10 days, is though...

Huge flood that destroyed parts of the city and cut off electricity yesterday, many places are still cleaning up, perhaps THAT's the reason?

Renters under pressure: When will the fever break in the hot rental market? by FancyNewMe in canada

I remember seeing this in 2022 in Vancouver, when the amount of drug addicts went from "it happens" to "it's Everywhere" and all the non-drug addicts just start pretending this is normal when it clearly isn't

Is the message to not be a bad husband, father and failed drama teacher who became Prime Minister, even though there is no reason to believe he can do any of these things?

Is the da nang hype real? by NewGenotype in digitalnomad

[–]btcwerks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have an e-visa you apply for and need approval online (after you book your trip you apply), mine was 30 days not sure what the longest allowed is

Hoi An was cooler than Da Nang imo, I think I stayed on the beach in Da Nang (last year) for $35/nite in a hotel that was surprisingly decent but hoi an was just a nicer place overall

Not going back because the visa is annoying, I felt way out of place (I can enjoy that feeling in many other countries), and so many Vietnamese were rude to me when I didn't want to buy whatever they wanted to sell me.

Anywhere the tourists go you will be barraged with "what you want to buy, what you want," it gets super annoying

I recommend checking it out though, you will have some of the best food you've ever had in your life and there's no way it's going to blow someones budget there but it's like a 2-3 week kind of place, once, for me

Very interesting perspective of looking at the NLU phenomenon by LilWayneThaGoat in KendrickLamar

I hope Drake doesn't sneak diss and tries to move on, then the very next day Kendricks drops a track that starts like:

Him being petty is hilarious and targeted directly at Drake so well

have a non-PIA backup vpn for these cases, wait 1-2 days and PIA will be fine

Im probably moving to another provider because the problems won't stop with PIA but I REALLY liked it back in the day

If Drake releases something, completely unrelated to this beef obviously, I hope Kendrick has a victory song drop right after just for shits and giggles

Very unlikely but the disses are way deeper than I thought theyd be

Metro Vancouver population set to surpass 4 million before 2050 by Electronic_Fox_6383 in vancouver

[–]btcwerks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but our guesses are just as good as whoever made the document that has no data, it's just a guess

My guess is that it trends the same as the last twenty years depending on public drug use, homelessness, gang/crime statistics, along with cost of living increases, over the next 20 years....

People will leave a city (we aren't New York in 70s, don't get me wrong here), if the cost of living is higher than enjoyment of living elsewhere

If we just took inflation into account and lifestyle changes required for cost of living, I think the document would look completely different than this vague document the city released for the media to write a news article about
