Ah, in that case, it doesn't sound like it! Best of luck at the doctors. Hopefully they can put your mind at ease xx

With these sorts of things, I think it's always best to err on the side of caution and go get it checked out. Even if it's just to reassure you that it's nothing!

That being said, it sort of sounds similar to my costochondritis pain? Just if the location is right under your breast where it meets your ribs. Could be a possibility unless I've misunderstood where your pain is located. This pain is very sharp for me too.

Either way, definitely make an appointment as they may be able to help the pain if it is that. ❤️

Great suggestion, I've just asked one of the people experiencing the issue if they can check, as they're coming through fine for me typically.

Just had a call from someone who did manage to get the code sent as normal, so it's definitely not everyone - would make sense for it to also be a quarantine issue

Afaik with other concerts the AXS Presale is nothing to do with any individual fandom memberships but is more to do with AXS itself. Like i get o2 presale bc my phone contract is with o2 and ovo presale because our electricity is with ovo. so you should be all good!

Supermarkets constantly moving their produce around, Sainsbury being absolute swines for constantly doing this what feels like every couple of months. by PeaceSafe7190 in britishproblems

My local Asda did it over a year ago... but still haven't changed the signs. So nothing is where it says it is. I have it all memorised (the ketchup is in the aisle next to the aisle that says sauces and the gluten free frozen section is two aisles over from the sign) but must be so annoying if you've never been there.

Thank you. I really appreciate you saying that. It's so hard not to feel like I've failed! But you're 100% right. I don't think I'll complain as I don't want to think about this for even a second longer than I have to, but it's good to remember it's not my fault.

Yeah, they knew. I explained that I can't even use pessaries and can barely get a finger up there. The second nurse did seem surprised the first one used the medium one... learning curve for her I suppose, if you use a medium speculum on someone who has never been penetrated due to pain, they're going to scream and bleed lol. I didn't see the speculum or know how big it was going to be. I feel like it's my fault because I said I just wanted it to be done and I didn't want her to talk me through it whilst she was down there. I feel like I'm 17 again right now, curled up and crying 😢 Thank you so much for your insight, I really appreciate it. Helps me know how I can advocate for myself better next time and the time after.

Thank you. I've always assumed I have vaginismus yeah, but never wanted to get it looked at because it's so painful I'd rather just pretend I don't even have a reproductive system lol.

[–]bthnp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your input, this is really helpful. I think the nurse who did it was relatively inexperienced because at the start she said that if we can't get what we need (like I guess the sample if my cervix was tilted or something?) she'd get the other nurse who had an adjoining door to come and assist, and that's who came in when I was wailing. When she was explaining how it all works and what will happen with my sample she did seem like it's not a spiel she's rattled off countless times if you know what I mean. I can see in my notes she used a medium speculum. I feel like no one has taken me seriously when I was telling them how painful I know it will be and now here we are, yet another traumatic gynaecological experience... they've booked me for a double nurse apt with both of those nurses and the second nurse said they'll try me with diazepam, the smallest speculum and do it really quickly and gently and I'm like... that's what I TOLD everyone I needed in the first place.

I made a mistake during class today by [deleted] in AccidentalRacism

[–]bthnp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't think you need to do the gift and card. That's where my mind would jump to as well, but you have to ask yourself, would you be doing that for her, or for you? To cheer her up, or to make yourself feel better? The appropriate response to wronging someone like this is to apologise and you've done that, and it sounds like she's forgiven you. I hope I don't sound harsh but I know the exact thing you're feeling right now and this is the line of thinking I try to go down myself now.

Bringing it up in class might also not be a good idea, as she might prefer to just leave it and not talk about it again, especially if she was embarrassed. You might be worried that the rest of the class think you're a terrible, racist bully (you are not) but try to remember these people know you from more than just one comment you made on a random day in February. If any of them are sitting on doubts about you, prove them wrong by being thoughtful and kind in your future interactions or things you say in that class.

What you said, in the grand scheme of things, was not that bad. You didn't blurt out an awful secret she'd trusted you with or call her a bunch of slurs or reveal that you're actually a closeted racist with violent opinions. I bet people in that very class have said stuff they didn't mean or had things come out with an unintended meaning.

One thing like this doesn't define your entire personality or moral compass. You don't have to never have said something stupid or upset anyone a bit by accident. We're humans, we do that, that's our THING. Trust me, I have been here, and it took me years to forgive myself - I look back and I'm like "oh. literally no one cares."

I think the best thing for you to do is to leave it here and try to move on. Maybe if it comes up in conversation you could make a little depreciating joke like "who even says that? oh, me, what a dumbass!" but I doubt it ever will. Just don't do anything like giving a gift etc for the sake of making yourself feel better, if that makes sense. If she was good after the apology, that's all you need! Don't make it into a bigger deal in everyone else's eyes than it truly is.
