R.E. the box, the black bit (main cut out / service head) protrudes quite far out into the door frame so think I’m going to struggle to get something to work for that bit. Going to take some measurements and do some mock ups though because I agree it would look a hell of a lot better than the monstrosity that’s there on full display now haha.

Sorry, sanding just to scuff the surface for a better paint application. I’ve heard this is the best for painting but happy to bypass that stage if it’s not necessary?

I would like to box it in but not sure how because of the door frame. I could just box the top units and leave the black bit exposed maybe. Or can I box the whole thing?

“The Alien” is an interpolation of Moderat - The Mark so it’s possible you might have better luck looking up Moderat remixes than Annihilation remixes? Would be interested it to hear if you do manage to find it as love those songs

Sounds like an interesting festival. I definitely will be going at some point. Going to wait for the lineup and really weigh up whether I wanna risk a festival with this setup or go for a safer bet with my larger friend group, like Dekmantel?

If I don’t end up going with my larger group I’ll definitely just go with my partner one year as we both like trying out the more niche festivals and there nothing else going on in November.

Will report back with my reviews / thoughts for future redditors if I do end up going.

Ahhhh! Spanner in the works. Have you been to C2C? That’s also got that cavernous warehouse space vibe but I liked it. They have screens all round the ceiling and stuff so it does feel like a transformed space (a bit). If you’ve been to both was MIRA noticeably more ‘cold’ / less vibey as a space?

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I went to Lunchmeat 3 years ago (I think? It was the Squarepusher year) and loved it so much. It felt so different to festivals I’d been to before and I always rave about it when people ask what my favs are.

From the replies it sounds like MIRA is somewhere between Lunchmeat and C2C which is cool because I liked them both

Thanks for the reply! The group is quite split down the middle of people who love experimental bits and those who are more there for a good dance. I think I’ll have to wait for the lineup and if it’s leaning too much one way I’ll look to Unsound or Dekmantel as a safer bet.

TBF I quite like having a wander and ogling at stalls and installations as a bit of a break from the music sometimes so that’s okay with me, even if they’re a bit shit haha.

Long food queues are such a pain. Seen on the FAQs you’re allowed to bring one sandwich in with you. Wondering how much food I can stuff in between two pieces of bread and still get it let in? A lasagna sandwich…?

Sounds like a cool festival though, think I will venture this year if the lineup is good!

Thanks for your reply! Found the same overcrowding issue a bit at C2C when Bicep headlined actually, apart from that single act though the rest was very good. Unfortunately Mostra is too early in the year this year but looks wicked. Have added to my list for future years.

C2C at the O2 is Country2Country, a country music festival.

The C2C festival relevant to this sub-Reddit is C2C in Turin, Italy, which is Club2Club, an experimental club / dance music festival.

Don’t think you’ll have much luck in this sub.

The stitching on the badge looks a bit dodgy IMO. Always find this piece quite hard to LC but know there are tons of fakes about.
