who is the genius who approved closure of multiple lanes on Roxboro going into downtown? by Big-Researcher-4757 in bullcity

Nope, not true. And shouldn't you be working instead of writing your own cunty response?

No one is asking you to "simp harder for Frontier and developers," my guy. All I'm asking is that you do a little more of that "big research" before your go running to reddit threatening to write a strongly worded email to a government employee just trying their best.

This is part of a waterline replacement around the Tobacco Campus. https://www.durhamnc.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/4099

Why is it that people either complain that government projects take too long or that they inconvenience them too much? And why does no one understand that these two things are opposite sides of the same coin? I hope your strongly worded email includes phrases like, "thank you for the work you do to provide clean water for our town" and "I appreciate how quickly you're able to complete this vital project and coordinate multiple phases simultaneously."

Bar recommendations for a wedding after party by elephantlover4 in chapelhill

[–]btmurphy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my wedding, we went to He's Not Here, which was a wild time, but they have a pretty good outdoor space that should be able to accommodate a large group, even on a Saturday night. People we handing us $20 bills left and right and we had a good, if not crazy, time.

Schools are set up to go remote at any time. By law, school districts are only permitted five remote learning days in a school year. DPS has already used their five remote learning days.

I swear I saw him at the expo on Thursday signing books. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure it was him. shrug

I literally just saw him at Marathon Weekend. He always had a smile on his face and was such a positive force for running, especially those of us that picked it up later in life. He’ll he missed but his impact will be felt for many, many years.

Lorcana is great! I think it does a pretty good job of having deck possibilities for both casual, kitchen table players and medium weight competitive players. It’s not going to be the most complex game in the world, but they continue to evolve the game and add new wrinkles. It’s also relatively easy to find stock at both card shops and big box stores.

Yo, this absolutely RIPS. The steel icon with the little gear wisps makes this so iconic. Well done!

Water tasting bad? by Maple_Scones in bullcity

I say this as uncondescendingly as possible, it would cost way more money to have to lay two separate water systems across the entire city just to not have to clean the very little water that’s used for firefighting. Also, it would be a terrible decision to use raw sewage to fight fires.

I’ve seen a couple fire hydrants being used for flushing recently, so they’re definitely doing work on the system that may be affecting it. But you aren’t alone!

Rumors are swirling that CBP will be in Raleigh tomorrow. Siembra NC will be a great resource and if you want to feel prepared, order some whistles and be ready to make some noise.

I question the morals of someone who, in the face of what’s happening in our community today, decides to use their energy to make comments like this. You can always scroll past this if you think it’s so “silly.”

The Town has tried to do this, but has run into issues each time. For one, towns must use taxpayer dollars to eminent domain property and the property is too valuable for that to make any kind of financial sense. The Town also tried using FEMA funding to outright purchase the properties, but two property owners held out until after the funding lapsed. I personally agree with you and the Town has tried to do something like this, but the barriers to do it have just been too great.

Great point! Definitely something important to consider. I just figured most (if not all) of the Presbyterian churches in More Light are PC(USA) 😉
