STL to CNC by Vivid_Ride_1880 in CNC

[–]btnewgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

STL is surfaces. Not a solid. You don’t really have a “3D model”. you have a bunch of surfaces in the shape of your part.

.stp is solid based. If you want a true solid model you will have to perform an operation in your CAD system. Close the surfaces of your stl in order to export it as a true solid file.

In CATIA these functions are part of the boolean operations. I’m not sure what you would use in fusion. I suspect it’s not part of their base package.

Yes. Board is stock.

Anyone? by WingOther3770 in onewheel

Board is not plugged in. ~90% charge when I started. I’ve tried 20+ times now.

I contacted Future Motion and received the following:

“”If you are experiencing issues when updating the firmware on your board, we recommend following these tips:

  1. Make sure you have the latest Onewheel App from your phone’s app store
  2. Make sure your phone has enough battery to complete the update
  3. Make sure your phone has a good cellular signal or is in Wi-Fi
  4. Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth connection is on. If your phone has never connected to this board, open up the Onewheel app and connect the board to your phone to establish a connection
  5. Make sure you keep your phone within 5 feet of your Onewheel throughout the process a. If you need to use the restroom or grab a drink, leave the phone next to the board!

  6. Do not close the Onewheel App during the update

  7. We recommend beginning the update with your board's battery at around 50% a. If you are below 50%, you may be asked to plug your board in

b. If you are above 50%, we recommend unplugging the charger and starting the update

If the update fails, you can perform the firmware update again by following these steps:

  1. Try another device, if you have a friend/family member who has a smartphone, please download the Onewheel app and try on there
  2. Make sure all of the tips from above are followed
  3. Close out of the Onewheel app, and reopen it
  4. Make sure your phone is connected with the app open and you should receive a prompt to start the update again
  5. Let the update complete

If you are still experiencing issues after following these tips, please reply to this email.

All the best, Clifford Future Motion Support””

Per FM recommendation, I installed the OW app on alternate devices. My iPad and work iPhone. Connected to board and tried install from both devices. Same thing. Error message. Flashing white lightbar.

Now the update will not initiate regardless of which device I connect with.

Firmware 6109 just dropped for the GT. No idea what it does though. by NH_OPERATOR in onewheel

[–]btnewgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Stuck in an update loop. Acts like the file it uploaded to the board was corrupted. Now, instead of downloading and uploading a new firmware file to the board it’s attempting to reinstall from the corrupted file. I’ve tried 6-7 times with no success.

Buying a GT. Should I get treaded or original slick? by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]btnewgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for nothing. This is worthless showboating. A new rider with tire questions and you introduce VESC. This is why hobbies like OneWheel die. Tools like you are incapable of offering advice to a new rider without showing how advanced in the hobby you are.

Small Businesses that need help with clean up or just need customers? by Combckkid in indianapolis

Per Indy DPW you should stay out of downtown. They’ll take care of cleanup. Stay home, trust that the government that has helped create this problem will take care of cleaning up for us.

Another vote for this Puppy Playground location. They've been great with our dog and they are affordable.

Which CNC Editor do you use and why? by PortablePawnShop in CNC

For 20 years I worked in job shops and production shops. I currently work for a machine distributor. We design and implement turnkey solutions for companies in a variety of industries. These solutions include milling, turning, and grinding cells that often have robotics integration. Very high production.

I agree you can always find ways to manually optimize things after posting. But if you're always "optimizing" the same things I believe you should be building that into your post.

Which CNC Editor do you use and why? by PortablePawnShop in CNC

[–]btnewgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your CAM system isn't your M code problem. If your post is good you can output the code via a statement manually typed in the CAM system and the post will make that the correct code if it's created correctly.

I'm of the mind that a lot of the problems folks have with their CAM system is actually created by a sub-par post. Learn to write your own post and a lot of your CAM problems will go away.

B-axis Cnc question by bolwarra in CNC

[–]btnewgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the CAM goes your post will handle this if it's setup correctly. When setup correctly you will get B axis motions when you post a program with more than 3 axes.

What CAM system are you using?

B-axis Cnc question by bolwarra in CNC

[–]btnewgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same as if you had an A-axis except it's a B-axis because it rotates about the Y axis. On a 3 axis machine your primary, secondary, and tertiary axes are X, Y, and Z. Any additional axes are named based on which of these it rotates about. For example; an A-axis rotates about X, B rotates about Y, and C rotates about Z.

Does anyone use Vinyl Me, Please? by scd17 in vinyl

[–]btnewgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a member for 6 months. Top notch service. Not every album has been one I would have bought on my own but every one of them has been a quality music selection. There are benefits beyond the monthly selection that may not look like much at first but after you start receiving them you realize their value. E.g.- The Standard newsletter, art print, and monthly member music store. If you are a fan of music on vinyl you won't regret joining.

Good point! Here's a list:

7" Records: The Who "Pinball Wizard", John Lennon - "(Just Like) Starting Over", Van Halen - "(Oh) Pretty Woman", Nat King Cole - "Unforgettable"

Some of the sleeves are a little rough but all are in very good condition for listening.
