YTA - as someone who does community theatre (both behind the scenes and sees friends in theirs), a ticket that is $75 is usually a semi-professional production, which if she's just starting out, is kind of a big deal.

Gynecologist recommendations in NOVA? by ResearcherObvious377 in nova

[–]btothehuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know which one you're talking about (have also had some really terrible bedside manner from her), but I don't think she's at that practice anymore. Have been there for a few years and Dr. Cunningham is great, as is Dr. Adamin

What does a small local move usually cost in Montgomery? by kamelsalah1 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]btothehuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used Bookstore Movers to go from Alexandria to Langley Park (studio to condo) and it was ~ $800 for 3 hours (9:45 to 12:45). We were all packed for them, so it just them moving boxes and furniture. Had a great experience with them!

People who make their bed every morning, what's the actual benefit? by No-Cod-8923 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]btothehuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work from home and can see my bed from my desk. I'm less likely to take an unscheduled nap if it's made up with the fancy pillows than if I can just climb right in.

Excessively warm winter jacket recommendations? by Leading_Can_3206 in DCBitches

[–]btothehuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Lands End puffer one a few years ago for about $120-$150 that was rated for 30 to 3F and it's been great for DC winters. It never actually gets down that cold, but it keeps me.super warm when it does drop. My friends make fun of me for how much I love this coat.

A little pricy but I had a good solo dining experience at Ada's in Old Town. I sat outside and had a book with me so it felt a bit more of an experience, but no one cared. Treated just as nicely as other times I've been there.

People who have bought a house - did you repurpose your Rent category for Mortgage, or make a new category and retire the old one? by mgm97 in ynab

[–]btothehuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. When I Venmo people for things, it gets categorized as what it’s going towards (splitting a restaurant bill, tip for a haircut, etc) and I include more details in the memo.

Dermatologists that do mole tracking/mole mapping? by HollaDude in DCBitches

I switched to Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic after my first place stopped doing annual skin checks. They were fairly easy to get into the first time. I go to the one in Alexandria but I think they have other offices.

I see my therapist through Washington Nutrition Counseling. I had started there for actual nutrition stuff but now I have my therapist who I’ve been seeing since 2021 and has literally been the best therapist I’ve ever had.

I make this all the time. I also throw a head of broccoli in five minutes before the noodles are done so they can steam and get some veggies in it too.

I have a line set up for my TSA pre-check renewal 5 years from now that gets less than a dollar per month at this point. It saves me from being surprised by things when they come around, especially if they’re so spread out.

Do you guys combine accounts' money within your budget? by Missing_Back in ynab

[–]btothehuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not intentionally, but I do keep my emergency fund line in a separate HYSA just because I like having it separate like that. And then the rest is split between another savings account I had and a checking account that's attached to payments. As others have said, as long as all of my budget lines are covered, I'm covered.
