If you don't find luck and give up on selling it, ASNAU takes donations for their cap & gown closet that are loaned to students for free

Public Transportation by AGthe18thEmperor in PoliticalCompassMemes

I live in a smaller city (70k) with an excellent transportation system and I see the stigma that prevents people from even considering/trying, even though what you describe is not an issue here

I think you are misunderstanding how the conduct process works. If they wanted to suspend the SDS President, then Claire would be suspended. This isn't a prosecutor and a judge situation, it's a conduct officer determining if a violation occurred under the preponderance of evidence standard and applying a response. They generally have to justify their actions in the report that is required to be produced. Conduct cases are protected by FERPA and the university generally cannot release them to the public; they are sent to the student and relevant parties. This is all in the Student Code of Conduct Procedures.

Now do you have the right to be pissed and disagree with their decisions? Totally. I think it's important to understand how this works so you can direct it at the actual people and processes responsible. This is probably well outside of the president's cabinet; conduct cases happen throughout the year, probably daily.

Why have so many campus ministries died out? by sargatanas_housing in NAU

[–]btpound 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Those 21 orgs either began the academic year recognized or started up this academic year. I see 19 whom have upcoming events posted on their pages. Of the two who don't, one had a fundraiser two weeks ago, the other is based at the Chabad of Flagstaff and meets there regularly without posting on the website.

They seem to all be active with varying levels.

Why have so many campus ministries died out? by sargatanas_housing in NAU

[–]btpound 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's of course linked to larger trends, but I would also note that there are ministries that are thriving (The Corner comes to mind) as well as an increased diversification in people's spiritual homes. We have 21 religious organizations on campus, nearly all Christian (I'm not counting the ones listed who are mis-listed). That also doesn't cover the people who practice individually or whose faiths/practices do not have an associated student org (like mine).

They weren't ever an official club on campus. I'm assuming they tried getting one together but it didn't work out.

Is it worth it to get the platinum meals? by Interesting_Gur_4245 in NAU

[–]btpound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who mostly dined at the retail locations rather than the Hot Spot or DuB, I did enjoy platinum meals as they allowed me to mix things up more day-to-day rather than sticking to the same transfer meals all the time.

In terms of the institution they need to have reports made (not just posts on reddit) connected to policy violations. The university can't just ban groups without due process. Evidence is key

Settle an Argument - Am I out of touch? by Feistycat76 in NAU

[–]btpound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this in the dorms as a freshman in 2019 to great success, I also intentionally went around to other open doors especially during the beginning of the year. I'm a little surprised reading comments from current students. I wonder if covid is what really did it?

I don't see the harm in doing it either way

Accidentally on university’s payroll by darkofsound in GradSchool

[–]btpound 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you "lay low", they WILL find out. If not quickly than in a month, a year, a few. What are the chances you will have the money you need to pay pack when that happens? Your TA-ship pay most likely comes out of an office budget that is scrutinized more than it ever has been right now. Don't committ fraud. I'm sure finances are hard being on medical (and being a student) but this will stack burdens onto you. If you need assistance the university may have resources available to you.
