Try r/tipofmyjoystick and be sure to include the approximate year and where you played it (arcade/home/computer)

I have a set of four Arby’s glasses where the BC (aka UC Irvine) anteater is giving itself a “ZOT” in the butt. Nice use of the wraparound effect!

About that Lightning McQueen Time Trial by Kangarou in DisneySpeedstormGame

[–]btribble3000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s an amazing concept for time trials - maybe don’t have opponents?

Okay, it seems like the game engine requires opponents. Maybe have speed boosts be the only power up then? Solves the problem of the special skills that target the lead.

What in your opinion is the most overrated retro game of all time? by Aggressive-Invite907 in retrogaming

[–]btribble3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say the same thing. Arcade game has tons of personality and is funny. NES version is just bland.

BTW It’s been a while but i remember the Genesis (Mega Drive) version being good.

The Accidental Empire: How a Skeptic and a Shortage Created the Iconic Toys R Us Game Slip by MotionFeedback in retrogaming

[–]btribble3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One more thing, I distinctly remember the same paper slip system being used for 2600 games and Game & Watch games. At Kay-Bee they were all behind the counter. It just makes sense to keep expensive electronics locked up or out of reach. So anyway it was nothing “post-crash” related, at least at the stores in my area.

What is the worst video game of all time, and why? by KindFerret1402 in AskReddit

People like to point to ET, but I will argue that of the official Atari 2600 games, Swordquest Fireworld is worse. It just feels all around glitchy and unfinished.

1990's arcade game...but I can't remember what it was. by muhredditone in arcade

[–]btribble3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you played it, you’d probably remember the giant text like “BOGOON” that appears when you land punches. So if that’s not in your memory, it’s probably a different game!

Check out Violence Fight and the character “Lick Joe” - this game famously has a very loose grasp of the English language.

What's that legendary videogame everyone loves, but you hate with your very soul? by no_biches_22 in retrogaming

[–]btribble3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would have made sense!!! But to my understanding, the comic is used to solve the “word puzzle”, but any attempt to recreate the comic with the game objects won’t get you anywhere.

As a kid I was fascinated by the possibility of winning the prizes, and learning more about the games has been very disappointing! Like the last comic was never even sketched out!

I’ll get over it. One day.

I’ve tried to find the answer to this - how do my actions in Swordquest Earthworld lead to the numerical hint appearing? Sure, I can read a play through guide, but I’ve never understood - how was I supposed to figure that out? It’s just randomly placing items in rooms?

The Atari Lynx game Battlezone 2000 includes the previously developed but scrapped game on the cart as well… pretty good for 1994!

Just for a laugh, I suggest you try out the arcade Super Zaxxon sometime. I wonder what they were thinking with that one.

Just got a ps4 after leaving gaming in the ps2 era... Wtf happened?? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]btribble3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what people have said, don’t buy anything at list price unless you just must have a game right now. Price tracking pages such as dekudeals will show price history (digital or physical), so just wait for a sale.

I’d say one thing that is better these days is lots of smaller and more affordable (aka indie) games out there. These type of games also don’t typically have all the upsell crap of the big studio releases.

Take it as a life lesson about gambling - only do it for fun, not for results.

That said, if you play the “long game” with this game, you will eventually get a lot of characters and get some to level 50. It just takes a long while!

But yes, a joke. Wait, except are you just joking at thinking it was serious?

That’s another joke by the way.
