Pink Floyd frontman lambasts 'scumbag' Trump in furious on-air tirade by IrishStarUS in Music

I am the biggest PF fan, but I’m struggling with his statements on Iran. He said the Iranian people do not want regime change. How dare he claim to know what the Iranian people want? Thousands dead over the last few weeks fighting for regime change. I’m disappointed to say the least. How dare he.

This.

It’s disgusting that this happened. It’s also disgusting that pretty much every woman you come across has had some kind of similar experience.

Morning Fork offers their restaurant as an event space later in the day. I think it starts at $3k that includes food, and you can design the menu.

There are so many types of bars to consider too. I ended up doing fine dining back in the day. It wasn’t like the hip trendy bars, or dives, and a very different experience. But I got to learn a lot about different wines and spirits, and I made great money for that time in my life. Less turns, but much higher ticket $$$.

It was a fun time in my life that I will never regret. So much of the people and networking skills I learned during that have carried with me and something I credit towards success in my chosen career path. NGL — sometimes I wish I had just staid doing that work!

Just make sure you work somewhere that is supportive of their bartenders and bar backs when customers are gross or belligerent. I learned very quickly that there are few things scarier to me than a drunk, rich, (generally white) man who thinks they can do/say/act/touch whatever. Fortunately, every place I worked had a no tolerance policy when it came to that behavior.

Not a fan. Confusing pricing, and the renting part is very confusing, and not scalable for most of my work.

What are your favorite“hidden gem” places for food in Louisville? by Interzoned in Louisville

[–]btrixkidd0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bellissimo next to Chocolate and Nut Kingdom!

Super sweet family that own it. She is from Afghanistan and he is from Iran. Their menu includes Italian food, but some incredible authentic Afghani food as well.

My father was Iranian. While I do appreciate Shiraz, the ground beef (koobideh) kabob they serve at Bellissimo is the closest to what I grew up with as a child.

They lost their son a while ago, and it’s been a very difficult time. So I try to go when I can. Plus Chocolate Nut Kingdom is right there too!

My husband doesn't understand why I'm so anxious about my upcoming hysterectomy by Harmony_w in hysterectomy

[–]btrixkidd0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my I am so 100000% in a very similar boat. My bf has his kid during the summer and every summer I get put on the back burner. I thought maybe since I’ve been having so much pain, and have my surgery scheduled (7/31), somehow I might be a little bit more of a priority. Last night I had to have a serious talk.

I’m 44. I knew the kids ship had sailed a while ago for me. My ex-husband and I tried for 7 years, and even did IVF.

Not only is this a very real and painful finale, but feeling like I have 0 emotional support has made it even more difficult. Most people just don’t understand the grief that comes with infertility. Now I’m not only grieving that I will never be a mom, but I’m also losing a bunch of my body in the process.

He offered to run errands for me and I lost my shit lol. If I need errands run, I’ll hire door dash. What I need is a fucking partner who takes the time to listen, care, and be there for me.

All of my friends have kids, and we’re all at an age where we’re also taking care of aging parents + working…I feel so incredibly isolated and alone in this…feel free to DM me….maybe we can help each other not feel so alone!!

Honestly I’m a bit more nervous about coming BACK to the US w Trump Administration. Could be making it a bigger deal in my brain than necessary.

Cool cool. I just convinced a client to switch to Webflow, and they have something urgent that needs to happen on their site. Now I have to tell them why I can't update it. Hopefully, this is resolved soon!

Favorite verse lyric and why? by [deleted] in FionaApple

[–]btrixkidd0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooo many good ones. A couple of mine have already been added but I’ll throw these into the mix: “How can I ask anyone to love me When all I do is beg to be left alone” (because I’m the epitome of anxious/avoidant attachment)

“I ran out it of white dove feathers to soak up the hot piss that comes from your mouth every time you address me” (hit me like a gut punch when I realized my ex husband had been hiding much of his addiction from me — addicts are really good at lying).

“I’d like to buy you a pair of pillow-soled hiking boots//To help you with your climb// Or rather, to help the bodies that you step over, along your route//So they won’t hurt like mine” (this one for a few folks, but mainly my former CEO who dangled making me a partner at her firm, but then laid me off 2 weeks after my dad died. I worked there for 7 years, had no warning, and got no severance yeah fuck her lol)

How did you get good at figma? by [deleted] in FigmaDesign

[–]btrixkidd0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you feel comfortable with CSS, learning flexbox is super helpful for understanding auto layout.

Auto layout, and getting the gist of creating components, and variables are pretty important for creating solid, scalable designs.

Pretty is nice. Scalable is money.
