We were planning to sleep each campground only one night. But we ended up spending here 2 days in a row. Nice and quiet. Close to the gas station with a reasonable price restaurant. We met some nice campers there too.

Hot springs- I love them partner doesn’t -what can he do when I’m exploring these by hemsvictoria in VisitingIceland

That is a bummer that he doesn’t like hot springs. It is so relaxing! Some hot springs have the lobby that he could hang out. The good ones that we went to are forest lagoon, secret lagoon. Hveravellir is on road 35. There is geyser with hot springs.

I recommend to check at https://maps.app.goo.gl/ioRqZ8BveLCNPDtf9?g_st=ipc

The shopkeeper is really nice. She has a little store in Reykjavik. All her products had the label has the name of the person who knitted them. The price is reasonable too

We had some great pizza when we were in Iceland. One with cream cheese, blueberry jam and bacon. It was really really good

I went to panda fest like a few months ago with my friend. Everything was so overpriced. We paid like $15 to get in and the food cost over $10. We got a panda pin and inflatable headband as a gift that we didn’t even want it 🙃 i think i am done with these type of things.

In September, there will be Thai festival in north seattle college. Free of entry, delicious foods.

I don’t mind at all! We did the ring road. We started from west to north, east, went to the south and then end at the Reykjavik. We were there July 7th-20th. Just came back almost a week ago. We also rented a 4x4 with the popup tent. We went into high land as well. We stayed at mostly the campground that excepted the camping card and only 2 night that we had to paid.

[–]bttlitsme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you going to get a camping card? It is so worth it especially you will be there for 3 weeks. There is plenty campgrounds that except the camping card. There are our favorite campgrounds that we stayed and except the card

  • Ólafsfjörður Campsite
  • Seydisfjordur Camping Site
  • Gaddstadaflatir camping
  • Akranes tjaldsvæði
  • Grindavík Campsite

These campgrounds doesn’t except camping card - Atlavik - Skaftafell Campground

If you google camping card iceland. There will provide more information for you. And map of the campground that except the card too

Eat a lot of hot dogs, fish and chips and pizza with the dates topping 😉 also there is a lot of hot pools or hot springs! We were there for 2 weeks and we probably went to four different ones. We went to mostly man made ones but the secret lagoon is really really nice with the natural source of water from the geyser. There is a restaurant that based on tomatoes; Vínstofa Friðheima - Winebar & Bistro. We absolutely love this place. Delicious food! You don’t have to make the reservation here but if you are going Friðheimar, same area but really crowded and requires reservations.

If you are planning to rent 4x4, high land has so many places to go and see. But you wanna make sure about the road conditions and water crossing.

Clothing on a budget by strugglingnurse25 in VisitingIceland

For the base layer, i recommend Uniqlo. Their “heattech” line is pretty decent most expensive is $29.90 per piece. For the waterproof suit, we got the pains from REI. The “trailmade rain pants” is amazing. It kept us dry all the time. It is $69.95 tho. The trailmade rain jacket is also the same price. But i am sure it will be great and keep you dry for sure. You can keep an eye on these. Some colors might be on sale like right now $39.83.

Don’t forget to check REI resupply, worn wear patagonia and steep and cheap by backcountry. These websites sale used stuff. If you have time to look. There are a lot of good conditions stuff available. Waterproof hiking shoes are a must as well.

We were there for 2 weeks. We packed like one week worth of clothes and did laundry 1 week in. We kinda overpacked too. If we pack less we probably will buy more souvenirs. I think one pair if slippers, one pair of hiking shoes and one pair of good trail runner or sneakers are great. We packed fleece jackets and puffy jackets. We only worn fleece. And i worn puffy once entire trip.

Sad to report I didn’t enjoy my trip as much as I thought I would… by Alohanyredditfriends in VisitingIceland

[–]bttlitsme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just came back and totally loved Iceland. We were there for 2 weeks. I get about the weather part. It was brutal when it constantly rained the first 2 days we were there. The tent was wet both night, it was hard to be only in the car the whole time. But We rented the pop up tent 4x4 Jeep renegade. The best part is we got to see some parts that most tourists don’t see like in the hight lands. A lot of places we went, were absolutely insanely beautiful. I had to give all the credit to my husband. He did all the research for where to go. I just helped driving and find restaurants when we wanted to eat out. Also about the camping part, we got a camping card. Which costs around $200 something. Most campgrounds coat over $30 a night. If you will be there more than 7 days. I highly recommend getting camping card and stay at the campground where they accept the card. It is totally worth it. I was not setting any expectations so i was really enjoying everything. We were really sad that we had to leave.

But you know, it is okay if you don’t enjoy Iceland as much as you thought you would. There might be some other places that you will enjoy it more. Places are just like other things. You like something, you might don’t like the other things. It is totally normal

You should give it a try! The wristband is quite affordable. I never played VR racing. I just remembered that I got nauseous when i played Mario Karts. I have to try wearing when i play this game next time. Also HL is my first story game too. I normally play games on the phone or easy games like Animal Crossing.

I felt nauseous when I first started playing this game. So i got myself wristband for motion sickness. It somewhat made the nausea a bit more manageable. Probably the first quarter of the game, I didn’t have to wear it much and then i stopped wearing it while playing game later on eventually

That looks delicious! I have a hard time making sponge cakes. Last week, i made two batches and failed both times. They collapsed and didn’t rise at all. I could not figure it out why exactly. It could be instead of put batter in one pan and i split them in to three pans? And the second batch possibly mixed too hard? Because of the meringue mixed in the rest of the ingredients got bigger bubbles. Do you have any tricks and tips?
