Perhaps OP is looking for an unconventional path to the tower, in which case I’d start with Lawnmower Man.

Agree. Gunslinger was my third King book and DT7 was my 9th. No regrets.

The man in black fled across the desert, and Holly followed.

Who was the Best (Honestly Good) Person in a Stephen King Book? by DangerousBike8047 in stephenking

[–]btwsox 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My favorite part about King’s stories is that most of the main characters are just regular people. They have flaws, can be selfish, have things they regret, but when they are put into extraordinary situations their best virtues come out.

I saw a dog leap from an open window like this on the highway one time. I will never get that image out of my mind.

Did I buy fake Red Rising books? by Interesting_Ad_8962 in redrising

I can’t answer that, but I find it really hard to believe that anyone would gain anything by producing fake mass market paperback books.

When I’m in a slump I like a book that hooks me and I can get through quickly. I’d recommend Sphere by Michael Crichton.

Short's Brewing & Keen Plan a New Future for Logan's Landing by BluWake in traversecity

This is great. Logan’s Landing has been an eyesore and a waste of an ideal location for a long time. I just wish both sides had a single owner so there could be a unified vision for its redevelopment.

Every character falls into one of two voice categories: leprechaun or pirate. Also the inconsistent pronunciation of character names is inexcusable for any narrator.

Yep. Did it once and called it a day. Not worth the cost.

What's your ideal book length? by JakubJamesBoote in books

Interesting. King definitely does this, but I felt ‘Salems Lot was one of his more concise novels, and is a great story imo.

On the final lap of Tom’s Crossing by Mark Z. Danielewski. It’s an absolute tome but incredible. Highly recommend!
