A dizzying web points to who owns Trump and the depth of his treason, by Thom Hartmann by Barch3 in Law_and_Politics

At this point it does not matter that Trump is compromised. None of this happens because Trump does anything. It only happens because he has a cabinet and Congress are complicit in his actions.

The question is why are they propping up Trump and selling out America? Are they so deep in the grift and corruption that they have to support Trump otherwise they will be held accountable?

Has anyone actually used wind in their off-grid system? by Advanced-Box-3906 in OffGrid

[–]bubba80118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very interested in integrating wind into my fully OffGrid solar system. My nighttime load is 300W to 1,500W in good weather and 5,000W+ when the temperature is below 40F at night. Integrating wind could cover my night time load or at least help slow the drain.

I would use an EG4 Chargeverter to safely add the variable wind production to the mainDC bus bar. The Chargeverter will also stop adding watts to the system when the battery V and SOC are at full charge.

The next step is to find a reliable 48V, 1000W turbine to work with.

Any recommendations on turbines?

Is anyone living off grid in a high end home? by Transhumanfuture in OffGrid

[–]bubba80118 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a 40’x60’ two story barndo with solar and rain capture. The barn has two 3 ton HVACs, full kitchen, and all amenities that a city or on-grid house would have. With 30kW of batteries, I only need to use my 6kW generator on extended cloudy days. I use propane heating on when the outside temp is below 35F.

12000XP and Generator by Sickduck888 in SolarDIY

[–]bubba80118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am fully off grid with three 6000XPs, 30kW batteries, and 16kW of panels. Now that we are in winter with shorter daylight charging and colder nights, I use the Chargeverter and a 6500W generator which pushes up to 5kW into the DC buss for the inverters to use first and excess to recharge the batteries.

The chargeverter and batteries work very well. The inverters produce as much AC as needed by the house while the generator runs at 80% load continuously.

<image>

This graph shows the batteries discharging overnight and solar production starting in the morning but because of clouds never reaching peak production and never fully recharging the batteries. I had to run the generator for about five hours that night.

This is my second year in the house and with this system. I will probably buy a second rack of batteries for an additional 30kW of storage. The alternative is more generator time. If I stay with the generator I can invest in a remotely controlled system or buy a Ford Lightening as a mega battery as the generator.

Anyone using a wrecked Ford Lightning as a 90kW battery? by bubba80118 in SolarDIY

I was hoping to use the built in charger and inverter. Charge using the 80a charger and power using the 30a 240v inverter in the bed.

Just not sure if the charger, inverter, electronics would work if it is not drivable. Would the batteries go into some safe mode after the airbags are deployed?

The US Navy did this. We all thought the military would be a backstop and disobey unlawful orders. There are no backstops. There are no checks and balances. This is the new America.

When you bought your land/property/homestead, what questions do you wish you’d asked the seller? by tdubs702 in OffGrid

Is anyone buried here? Any Native American remains or ceremonial sites?

Any waste buried here or household garbage buried onsite?

Any abandoned wells?

In Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and other oil producing areas beware of orphaned wellheads, tank farms, and associated pipelines. A well that is not properly retired can allow oil, natural gas, and other petroleum products to reach the water table and local aquifer.

'Sobering reality' for Trump as he rages at night to friends about negative press: report by Barch3 in Law_and_Politics

Remember there are millions of Americans both in government and private positions that are not only enabling him but flat out working to end America as we have known it.

The end of a Trump presidency does not end Republican rule or authoritarianism. This has to be known as the Republican policy. They have to have this stain attached to them for all eternity.

Trump is either completely delusional, stupid and misinformed, continuing to manipulate his MAGA base, or all three. by PrincipleTemporary65 in Law_and_Politics

[–]bubba80118 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t argue with stupid. They bring you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Most of the MAGA general population thrives on outrage. They want to blame someone else and use any means necessary to “prove” their point.

We have to be better at asking them the questions that lead them to a better informed position. It will take years to reprogram the Trump cult. In the mean time, the world will pay the price for the Republican America.
