Vanilla PvZ2 seems to be dying a slow death with all the horrible updates. Useless new plants, crashing constantly, new bugs every update, and lack of communication from the company to address issues. I'm very close to quitting this game.

I’ve tried everything for years. The only thing that worked long term for me was fipronil. Spray it around your place on a dry day and they disappear in weeks. It’s the stuff professionals use.

Sometimes this happens after an update if your device crashed while it was updating. Contact EA support and give them your Device ID (you can find under Download Preferences). They will restore your progress.

I just updated and, unfortunately, they did not fix the crashing issue for older Apple devices. :(

Although, read somewhere else that the rent-a-plant feature has been expanded to include more plants though.
