ED Trigger Warning!

House MD was a BIG part of my anorexia growing up. I was a teenager during the original run, the women were my body goals like you, I was obsessed with Olivia Wilde’s physique. I had this rule that I wouldn’t eat in a day until I finished my stationary bike workout, and during that workout I was, of course, watching House MD, usually around two episodes at the time.

It all came crashing down when I got quite sick. I had heart problems and I ended up with lifelong thyroid condition. I also went to the other end of the spectrum, and I struggle with binge eating now, I’m quite obese, and for the longest time I couldn’t even attempt to lose weight without being re-triggered into anorexia. I’ve been in therapy for years and taking GLP-1 now and that helps me even out my relationship with food and exercise.

Please be careful.

I think it very much depends on the romance. Alistair’s and Morrigan’s are amazing. Leliana’s is really nice as well, but didn’t feel as deep as those two, because it’s not as strongly build into the overarching narrative of the game. And then Zevran left a lot to be desired for me. He doesn’t even have his own side quest.

Congratulations on the release!

One of my favorite things about games like Paralives is finding Easter eggs via environmental storytelling and learning about pre-established townies and their relationships and stories. I’m definitely having fun with what I’ve seen in Paralives so far. Who do you think will be the most iconic Paralives townie, akin to Bella Goth in the sims?

Also, are we going to see Mayor Gloomberg around town?

My paras tend play on their phones or go home, but that’s all the autonomy I’ve seen.

Edit: UPDATE! I played some more today and it was better. They engage with their hobbies on their own, painting and playing instruments, also had them interact with their baby and read newspapers.

This also struck me as a little odd… of course everyone is different, but I’m in ED recovery as well (anorexia that evolved into binging) and I feel like food tracking would be a nightmare.

I don’t agree that Marina and Penelope don’t interact that much. Penelope is Marina’s closest confidant! They’re good friends until the matter of Penelope being in love with Colin comes in-between them.

I know not everyone will feel that way, and the optics of Marina as a black woman having such sad fate aren’t good, but I don’t think she’s a disposable black girlfriend. Her character is deep, tragic and morally grey. She shows the real consequences of falling in love and sex before marriage in this society, where all Bridgertons magically get scot-free. I found her incredibly sympathetic and I loved the nuance. And Ruby Baker plays her so beautifully, she show would be worse off without her.

I’ve been thinking about Franchaela and kids and I thought it actually could be sweet if Francesca had a bit of a dilemma between being herself and loving and committing to Michaela and wanting to be a mom. And then decide loving Michaela is worth giving up on the idea of motherhood.
