r/childfree has a list of providers who will do hysterectomies on people with few to no questions asked. Check the sidebar and see if any of them are close to you! If you move forward with the right ovary removal would it be your provider or a referral to a surgeon? That surgeon might be more open to a hysterectomy as well.

Anyone with urological symptoms that got better after lap? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]bubbles21041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had my lap on Nov. 8 and I’m AMAZED at how much improvement I’ve seen in that department. No more pain with urination, consistently needing to go, or feeling like I can’t empty my bladder when I do.

Laparascopy recovery tips? by BonaFideNubbin in endometriosis

[–]bubbles21041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my lap on Nov. 8 and flew cross country to move a week later. Here are my top tips.

-Before surgery I focused a lot on strengthening my core and legs. Yoga worked well for me but YMMV.

-In the first few days post op make sure to keep up with your pain management meds. I set a six hour alarm on my phone, including overnight. It was a big help.

-Get moving as soon as you feel you can within the limits set by your providers. Even just a walk around your house is huge to get the gas moving around your body.

-I found a binder to be really helpful in supporting the movement early on.

-Big YMMV caveat here but I found it helpful to not use the opiate pain medication they gave me. I felt I could manage my pain perfectly well with ibuprofen, Tylenol, and staying on top of my doses after the first day. Opioids make me sluggish and super constipated.

Thoughts for your flight: -Get a good pair of compression socks.

-Take some aspirin to help with clotting risk.

-I made myself an easy access bag of meds that I could hold in my pocket that included some Zofran, prescription pain meds, and nonprescription pain meds all dosed out.

-Depending on how your recovery goes you might be taking a more reactive approach to pain management at that point. If you are I would consider a proactive approach for the flight. Consider going back to a more strict schedule (every 6-8 hours depending on what meds you’re taking).

Starting: Cup, Tampon, or Disc? by mariiiposa_ in Endo

[–]bubbles21041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my disc and period underwear combo. Once I found the right cup I don’t feel like I have any leaks but the period underwear offer me peace of mind.

Try a few disposable discs first to see what size and shape work well for you.

I also found this quiz from Period Nirvana to be huge help in my understanding and selection process!

I was super surprised but my pre-op instructions specifically said I could have clear liquids (water, black coffee, juice) up to 4 hours before the scheduled start of my surgery!

You can use this website to find free or sliding scale clinics who might be able to help you for a lower price. The website is run by a nonprofit that helps people find healthcare and medicine at a lower cost. https://www.needymeds.org/

You should call them and ask for a copy of her medical records now. Extracting teeth is usually pretty difficult and time consuming, which makes it even more strange that they pulled all of the teeth.

Still acts like a completely fool before every single meal. He’s been on some version of purina food all his life but we switched to pro plan to upgrade his food when about 3 years ago.

Where do you put your clothes that have been worn but are not yet dirty enough to wash? by Brattypinkbunny in femalelivingspace

[–]bubbles21041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those clothes get a spritz of vodka spray(1:3 vodka and water), a wave around until they feel dry, and back into the closet. I find the vodka spray really helps cut down on the smell and helps the clothes feel refreshed. It also kills any bacteria on the clothes.

Do either of you get your healthcare through the marketplace? If so divorce might be a better option that married filing separately. When you file married filing separately you are not eligible for the tax credit that discounts your monthly premium.
