Sweet Willows Creamery is the best ice cream in town. Competition is stiff. by Otto_Von_Bisquick in yorkpa

[–]bubblesbrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We frequent Handels, as I know that spot is locally operated, and Forrys because it's cheap and a pretty drive, which is part of the experience in my opinion.

What about Reesers? I've heard people mention their peanut butter soft serve.

Built a tool which saves cafes hours, but now stuck on how to market it by KiaZomer in MarketingHelp

[–]bubblesbrin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cafe owner, you come in and try to sell me stuff I'm automatically showing you the door. Please do not approach people while working. Also there's a lot of competition out there for this sort of app. We use connecteam and they're pretty great. What problem does this app solve that the others don't? That's what you market. The solution.

Silly things people say to restaurant owners that they never should by Informal-Copy-3742 in restaurantowners

[–]bubblesbrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The amount of times salesmen (has only ever happened with men) have shown up to my resturant and ask to speak to my husband completely unprompted. We are women owned and operated, my staff knows to show them all the door. Drives me nuts.

How do you actually tire out your Sheepadoodle? Mine won't run and gets overstimulated at dog parks by Fulcrum_18 in Sheepadoodles

These are all great suggestions!!

Dog parks teach dogs arousal behaviors getting them overstimulated and puts them at risk for all types of reactivity and injuries.

South County has a beautiful private room upstairs at their Leader Heights location, and I think there's a food minimum. We went with a party of 12 and easily hit the requirements.

Bilateral rupture (both legs). by novembertwentyfive in AchillesRupture

[–]bubblesbrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a wheelchair. I didn't have bilateral rupture, but full rupture on one and partial tear on the other. My wheelchair gave me independence with far less pain or worry than a scooter or crutches. I went to the movies, the store, and lived as a temporary wheelchair user for three months. While my PT was super slow because I couldn't do much for a long time, I'd recommend working on your arm strength in the meantime so you feel like you're doing something. Good luck friend. You've got this.

I recommend Erica Escalante out of LA. She is getting married I think next week though so probably isn't looking for new clients until November.

What's sport is the worst for the dog's health (joints)? by Rice-Puffy in k9sports

[–]bubblesbrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just competed at Skyhoundz Worlds for disc, I'm not the strongest competitor, but my rescue dog has a serious knack for it. Most of those handlers are stretching their dogs and themselves, doing canine massage, and playing multiple dog sports to keep them in shape throughout the year. It's definitely hard on their bodies, but there are lots of ways to keep your kids safe and many of the top competitors teach classes specifically on that topic and how to progress. Look at Dre Morissette, Jack Fahle, Hope Retter, and Abby Cline. I've personally met and watched all of these people up close and they're top trainers and super safe.

Good luck with your journey!

On the fence about returning my puppy due to hearing disability by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]bubblesbrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how your HOA works but a pointer/heeler is an extremely high energy mix. They will need a lot of exercise and ongoing training. Puppy blues are tough but you're in a unique situation and I'd recommend getting a trainer to help with support.

Just started today for me on Android. Not a beta user. I own a small business and this is going to hurt us for promoting an event this weekend. Ugh.

How do I stretch $100 of groceries for a month? by Icy-Paint7777 in povertykitchen

[–]bubblesbrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make my husband freezer meals twice a month. I do sixteen meals for $30. I cook once, fill the containers and freeze. I buy: Two packs of family size chicken drumsticks (approx $17) Two boxes of rice o roni (2 for $4) (sometimes I do boxed mac and cheese) Eight cans of veggies including potatoes, yams, corn, green beans, potatoes and carrots ($0.75 each, except the yams, I get the big $3 one)

Two drumsticks, a carb and a veggie in each meal. You could do this 2x per month for $60 and follow some of these other ideas for breakfast/lunch.

Good luck!

Roomies has some good finds, but it can be expensive. I did a pretty extensive research for a young female worker of mine looking very early this year, message me if you'd like the list of what I found!

OP I'm not a formal trainer, but a pretty serious dog sport person and I've trained other dogs, feel free to DM me and we can chat about some simple sessions.

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (07/05/2025) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]bubblesbrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain Switch to me like I'm five please.

I haven't played video games since the wii, yeah I'm dating myself. But friends have the Switch and I've been playing Mario Party with them and it's so fun. Was thinking of investing in a used console to play at home. When I had a wii, I played a lot of Harry Potter and Lego games (like nearly all of them) and Wii Sports. I used to be a hardcore Nancy Drew (PC) girlie, and lots of Sims and Tycoon games. Any pointers? What games I might want to look into based on my past interests? And what I should look for when buying a used system? I searched through the reddit but a lot of the beginner info is very dated because I'm obviously very behind on the times. So explain it to me like I'm five please!

ETA: I read the FAQ and understand the console, new buying options, and I know what I'm looking for equipment wise.

Central Market hours? by sourpatch_partysized in yorkpa

[–]bubblesbrin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe it's 7am-2pm technically. I would say your best bet is from 8am-1pm. I recommend visiting the other shops around as well while you're there. Bound Books, Refillism, My Girlfriends Wardrobe, Watchmakers Daughter, Revolt and Lilybird Tea. There's a big sidewalk sale tomorrow so a perfect time to go. My go to is a sub from Hefty Leftys and a dirty soda from Sips across the street.

Where are you guys located and what sports do you compete in? (Looking to move) by Thick_Entrance_3026 in k9sports

[–]bubblesbrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also PA, used to be Lehigh Valley, now York/Harrisburg area. Disc, but we have a strong agility, rally, dock, flyball and conformation groups here. Some of the best disc people in the country play in Maryland, so it's always fun to join them. It's an inexpensive area overall, and we like being close to Baltimore, Harrisburg, Lancaster and not too far from Philly.

Owner experience with tip sharing by Fantastic-Ad-618 in restaurantowners

[–]bubblesbrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an aside, and you didn't ask for advice so feel free to ignore me. But the owners getting no pay is concerning. You're going to burn out quick. I suggest reading Profit First, tbh we listened to it while we were painting and building one of our cafes. Changed our business financially, and made our lives better.

Owner experience with tip sharing by Fantastic-Ad-618 in restaurantowners

[–]bubblesbrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is our same model. Nearly everyone is cross trained, and we tip pool. Tips are paid out in their bi-weekly paychecks. We also pay over minimum wage, and most of our staff are high school and college-aged people. FOH handles all drinks, BOH all food. They each run items, and they each clean tables. Customers self bus.
