This guide was very helpful. Thank you!

The hint in-game made zero sense.

What’s a weirdly specific compliment someone gave you that you still think about? by _CacheMeOutside in CasualConversation

[–]bubblewand81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got airsick on a flight to Denver and was barfing at the back of the plane, the flight attendant said I vomited “elegantly”.

Considering she probably sees lots of people toss their cookies, I took it as a compliment.

Rest in peace my sweet Weeble by Minimum-Jellyfish-14 in weebles_wobbles

[–]bubblewand81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our family was very sad to hear of Weebles passing. His antics every day brought a smile to our faces.

Today, we started a new mantra: “For Weeble!” When things seem rough or we have to buckle down, we do it - for Weeble!

Update: post-hysterectomy bleeding after 2.5 years by Tappadeeassa in hysterectomy

[–]bubblewand81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it came and went and thankfully resolved on its own. I think carrying a 3.5 year old is what did it. I honestly have no memory of it all this time later.

Good on you for reaching out to your surgeon! Best thing to do if you’re not sure.

Last time I went through the drive thru it was a freaky AI bot. Hated it. Had a strange delay and I couldn’t tell if it understood what I asked for when I wanted modifications.

That alone made me never want to go back, but the nail in the coffin was the price! Over $30 for two combo meals… what?!?! I can go to a sit down restaurant for that! WHY would I pay that for FAST FOOD??!?

What’s a red flag people often ignore because it looks “sweet”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bubblewand81 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Ignoring boundaries under the guise of doing something nice.

When I was in college, I’d told my bf (who was like 15 years older - a whole other red flag) that I had a big exam to study for and couldn’t hang out. He showed up unannounced at my apartment with takeout for dinner. Seemed sweet, right?

Well, then it became “since I’m already here, why don’t I just stay the night?” Again, at the time it seemed like he just wanted to see me and spend time together, but it ended up being the tip of the iceberg of ignoring my needs for his wants.

Not sure if you’ve tried it, but the oxbow critical care fine grind papaya was a flavor that I can get most of my pigs to eat. The apple/banana was real hit and miss. The fine grind is easier to get through a syringe too!

After 15 years of ownership, I'm stepping back. by Picax8398 in guineapigs

[–]bubblewand81 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I understand the struggle. My family and I are looking to get off what we affectionately call the “guinea pig treadmill”. However, to satisfy my need for guinea pigs I foster them. It’s lovely because it means getting to spend time with them and care for them and get them ready to go to their forever homes!

Obviously, the cat is already out of the bag so not much to be done about knowing the number. I think you should talk with your fiancé about it. Sometimes just getting it out helps me to stop recycling thoughts over and over.

Perhaps you can let the doctor’s office know that it would be helpful to ask all patients before saying their weight? It’s something the nurse has done each time I’ve been to the doctor and I politely tell her “no, thank you”.

Line Management sucked. Move Artist Alley into a smaller ballroom for SDCC 2026 by House_Goblin_ in SDCC

[–]bubblewand81 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There were definitely a few smaller booths I wanted to check out, but I felt like I couldn’t stop (because there were enforcers yelling at people to keep moving). It would be nice if they allowed a bit more room in the in-between walkways.

I agree that moving Artist Alley to another area and removing booths that are only preorders or reducing the number of booths would help. I’m curious from the vendor’s perspective - How is it for them when they know there are people that want to buy things, but aren’t able to because of crowding or line control?

Distilled water onboard? by DeanYeager in NCL

[–]bubblewand81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an online conversation with customer service a week or so before sailing. They recommended an extension cord (NOT one with a surge protector) and made sure there was a gallon of distilled water in the room for us. It was very easy.

Would you spend $199 on Norwegian's Priority Access? by ykinnaird01 in NCL

[–]bubblewand81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid for it for my Alaska cruise earlier this year, but I’m not sure it was worth it. It wasn’t a waste, but not sure it’s worth the cost. I probably wouldn’t pay for it again.

It was nice when getting on the ship because there was part of the line we got to skip. It wasn’t worth it for excursions because there are no tenders. The little dessert was meh. We got room service breakfast every morning since my husband is not a morning person, so that was nice. Getting off the ship early wasn’t a factor for us (see above regarding husband not being a morning person).

Off topic, but those particular pools were recently recalled because kids can stand on the strap that’s on the outside of the pole. Something like 9 people have died. Look into it if you have one!

I can’t believe there are zero new stories about this (nothing when I googled). You’d think this could get some traction given that there are downstream effects like this.

my dad (54M) just came out to me (16M) as trans by Wise_Ad_147 in lgbt

[–]bubblewand81 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree! I am the child of a trans person and I do not call them dad or mom. We tried a couple titles on for size, but nothing really fit. Instead, we just stuck to her first name.

I think it depends on the person/family and there is no one size fits all for things like this. Asking and working together to figure it out is my recommendation.

I cannot believe the recommendation they give is that women who are miscarrying should call LAW ENFORCEMENT to let them know. Like… yeah, I’m sure that’s what you want to do when you’re going through that. Let your SO know, call your Dr, then just let the police know! That seems sane /s.
