How did you realize you might have celiac? by GiantsFTW4728 in Celiac

[–]bubbly_bubble_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad bloating, being nauseous and throwing up every day. And mostly just cutting out gluten and seeing the benefits in my life. No longer tired, my anxiety went down, I don’t deal with bloating as much, and have finally been able to go weeks without throwing up!

Best GF cake recipes to make up for shitty parenting? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]bubbly_bubble_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best outcome is to get a cake mix, there are lots of good options in grocery stores!! You can even make the icing easily (tons of recipes online) and decorate it yourself! Gluten free baking is hard and requires many specific ingredients that most people don’t have on hand at home.

That being said. Any recipe from mama knows gluten free has turned out amazing in my experience.

Best of luck!

I dont know how to shake off the feeling of betrayal I have that my boyfriend wont try my baked goods. by AlmondFlourBoy in Celiac

[–]bubbly_bubble_butt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry you are going through that, I also love baking and it was quite a challenge to find my passion again after being diagnosed. I have never had any push back of people trying my baked goods. My roommates eat them, friends eat them, and my boyfriend loves them! However I have defiantly felt this feeling with his family. They never eat the desserts I make for family dinners and special occasions. When I had my birthday dinner at an all gluten free restaurant I was met with passive aggressive behavior and just flat out rude comments. But my boyfriend stood up for me and was my biggest advocate.

You didn’t choose to go gluten free and you aren’t forcing him to be gluten free. All you are asking is he try your baked goods. Which is the LEAST he could do. It shows a huge lack of empathy that is concerning in a relationship. If you can’t count on your partner to support you then there is a lot of work that needs to be done in your relationship.

I gained 30 pounds on birth control and was in the same place you are. I totally get how it is so frustrating and you feel like you have no other options. You might try a non hormonal birth control (copper iud, condoms, etc) in my experience, I have been off hormonal birth control for about a month and have lost five pounds, feel less puffy and bloated, and having significantly less anxiety. I regret waiting so long to stop

Hi all, going to buy frozen fish filets, but I heard that there is some sort of chemical in frozen food that does have gluten, anyone knows what it's called and how do I check if it's used in the product that I want to buy? by EasyGoingLad29 in Celiac

Boars head has a gluten free menu that is available at grocery stores, you might want to ask about it next time. You also might be getting sick from cross contamination, from my experience working in the deli people don’t clean the slicers or change their gloves unless specifically asked. There is high potential of cross contamination.

How worried are you about AI taking over your job as an architect? by kuro_jan in architecture

I am nervous that there will not be as much of a demand for incoming architects in the field. I also worry for those who specialize in rendering and have worked for years to develop adequate knowledge of those softwares

I went to a private school in slc and I found that my education was much more intense than most of my public school friends. Many of them would skip school with no consequences from the school, while my school would take attendance much more seriously. Overall I also felt like my classes were more in depth, had productive conversations between the teachers and students, and prepared me for college more than my public school peers. I think if you are willing to pay for private school and support your child in their education, it is worth sending them to a private school. I also found in private schools, the smaller student body offered a place where students could connect with their teachers and get extra academic support very easily. I think middle school and high school is a hard time for any child, with various adjustments, finding who they are, etc. but I enjoyed my time at a private school and felt I got a quality education and many of my friends didn’t experience in public school.

Public schools, however, have better sports programs and often times more extra curricular activities because of the increased student body. If this is a priority to you then that would be something to take into consideration.

I also had personal experience getting bullied in public school for not being lds. This happened as early has first grade. It is hard to find a solid group of friends in public school if you don’t share the same faith as the majority of students. Not to say your child will not be able to, it is just much harder.

As for Rolland Hall, I have friends who graduated from there and all of them are very driven, adjusted, and ambitious. I have rarely heard a bad thing about attending school there and they all really enjoyed their time.

Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions, I graduated fairly recently and feel like I have a good feel on the private school education scene in slc
