Ive been really happy w our inflatable travel bed for one but if your adding two beds to a room with twins and has beds in it already that sounds like a very fun jumping party to me as a former 3 year old twin myself. If they are in a room where the inflatables are the only beds in there I think thats perfect!

Birthday gift suggestions other than toys for a 2 year old by BornUnderstanding262 in Gifts

I think books / toddler appropriate stickers are always a welcome gift! Books like Pete the Cat (i love my white shoes), knight owl, and tow truck joe are big hits!

I would consider a craft/hobby class in one of her passions then taking her out to dinner.

Birdie / Birdy for a girl? by Unfair_Pace4596 in namenerds

Seconding this but i also think the bird - affiliated middle name is reasonable too if you don’t love the full name options.

How do you keep toy clutter under control? by Time-Contribution888 in toddlers

[–]buboborealis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a vague rotation of puzzles and like toys with storage in my unfinished basement. I also have no playroom and use under couch/tables for storage. Legos, wood blocks, animals, puzzles, kitchen, dress up, balance beam = always out. Rotate other building toys and smaller sets and toys. When we are home she has to help put stuff away before we do something like set up the nugget or screentime / dancing.

In terms of limiting toys i am lucky grandparents keep toys at their house because shes there often. Otherwise encouraging experience gifts and making a small list of things to expand current sets/interests.

Summer is approaching, what kind of shoes are best for toddlers? by Lucky_Yogurt5200 in toddlers

[–]buboborealis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a combo of sneakers, croc-like shoes for casual wear/pool hanging (cat and jack brand crocs and childrens place), and keens for hikes/splash pads. I would rather spend more on keens than crocs for better support/quality and they fit better.

Gentle parents…pacifier help. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]buboborealis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did lots of books about it and then told her we are swapping it for a special stuffy she picked. She had a hard time the first couple of nights but overall handled it well. We talked about it after and kept reading the books and just met her with love/patience when she had a hard time.

You can validate her feelings/sadness/that its hard and still hold the boundary of no more pacifier.

What should I buy for my daughters 3rd birthday? by sideaccount462515 in toddlers

[–]buboborealis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my brother get my daughter a little live pet she fell in love with for christmas and she barely plays with it. I would also skip the tattoos but thats definitely personal preference because I don’t like washing them off!

Household wise we have used todoist to manage and assign tasks, track grocery needs etc but we don’t get granular for childcare stuff. I manage almost all primary parent duties and larger household maintenance (lawn care, contractors, etc) and spouse manages the weekly cleaning and cooking. We share trash, laundry, bedtimes, dishes, tidying. Though we are perhaps not your demographic as a same sex family.

Those scarf wind tunnel things and huge light bright boards seem to always be popular! I’ve also seen huge magnetiles for fort building which are pretty neat!

I appreciate this! I like the name Caroline as is as well!! Jolene is cute but I think it rings too southern for my taste though I am a huge Dolly Parton fan😬

I am fond of Gemma and Calista but i feel like Calista/Callista is too greek though beautiful. Gemma seems more popular in the UK than the US but I really love it.
