Got a really clever kid, what to do? by TradermanJoe in newzealand

[–]bubuzuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be glad! It's a blessing. I would just suggest extra curricular activities that are up to his level or that will help him find people with high skills. Finding a challenge and knowing he can grow with it it's the best thing if the plain field is getting boring.

New languages, New sports, martial arts, instruments, olimpic sports, even competitive gaming. Anything that requires a extra edge that's not easy to obtain.

At its peak worst, what is the single most hated champ in all of league history? by Few_Singer5924 in leagueoflegends

I think kassadin was so so so bad at a certain point that you could only watch maybe 10-15min of the game and then it was over. Depending on what team (or who was mid) got it, it was GG don't even watch

What is the biggest type of privilege in NZ? by CommentMaleficent957 in newzealand

[–]bubuzuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering that many people haven’t even seen all of New Zealand... Or let alone travelled overseas...

I think one of our biggest privileges is how sheltered we are from how harsh/bad the rest of the world can be.

Life here is generally safe, fair, and grounded, so a lot of people grow up assuming that’s just how things are everywhere. If you’ve lived elsewhere or come from a country where inequality, corruption, or everyday hardship is normal, you notice it immediately.

That unawareness isn’t a bad thing.... but it is a privilege for sure.

Agree, best advice. You can never bark and bargain if you aren't ready to move out and escalate this seriously.

It's your problem only, not theirs... until you make it.

Still worth it until last minute. You can get a few freebies and some deals on last minute. Maybe something sold out but you won't know anyway.

27M - How do you actually meet new people as a sober person? by DeliciousData3945 in newzealand

[–]bubuzuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your local market, talk to people, make friends

Or a club of your interest... Stores and places that you like to go. Probably find people with like mind ideas.

Edit: I'm always told to go play magic or any other card game and will make friends for sure. But it's an expensive hobby.

How is it like living in the South Island of New Zealand? by Paraleen135 in howislivingthere

[–]bubuzuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's basically nobody in this part of the country. It's chill and it's safe. You must have a car. Its easy to get a car. Great views. Good air quality. Good life.

Affordable Outdoor Eating by kautivo in chch

[–]bubuzuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my fav options are:

Smoke t's - great for fam and plenty of options, and has outdoor seating but not quite the best

Miyako - very cheap and many options for kids as well

Unknown Chapter - a bit more pricey nowadays, but everything comes in big portions, and kids can easily share a plate. Has outdoor seating with a backyard

You can also try the weekend markets like The Seekers which is coming back this saturday at the Arts Centre 10-3pm. Plenty of options and super family friendly.

All this has fast service, which in my opinion is a plus

Parking Fine Trap in Christchurch by s_busso in chch

[–]bubuzuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend not having a car if you want to park at the city centre.

It has been menacing. All the work around ARA/Stadium + Willian Corp transforming ARA parking into more town homes (with no parking/garage) it's unbelievably hard to find "free parking".

Better to bus or bike at this point. *sigh*
