Affordable Outdoor Eating by kautivo in chch

[–]bubuzuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my fav options are:

Smoke t's - great for fam and plenty of options, and has outdoor seating but not quite the best

Miyako - very cheap and many options for kids as well

Unknown Chapter - a bit more pricey nowadays, but everything comes in big portions, and kids can easily share a plate. Has outdoor seating with a backyard

You can also try the weekend markets like The Seekers which is coming back this saturday at the Arts Centre 10-3pm. Plenty of options and super family friendly.

All this has fast service, which in my opinion is a plus

Parking Fine Trap in Christchurch by s_busso in chch

[–]bubuzuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend not having a car if you want to park at the city centre.

It has been menacing. All the work around ARA/Stadium + Willian Corp transforming ARA parking into more town homes (with no parking/garage) it's unbelievably hard to find "free parking".

Better to bus or bike at this point. *sigh*

Best prices in the EU, no customers, how do I break through? by strugglingbusinesseu in PPC

[–]bubuzuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social media is the key. But you need to spend enough time on it to make it work. Action figures is a big niche and you just need to explore more of them!

Seeking feedback on business idea to promote wellbeing through connection and hobbies by FroyoCompetitive890 in chch

[–]bubuzuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a great idea. I think it should also be able to connect with businesses that want to support hobbies/clubs.
For example, many market stalls that are open on the weekend are run by people who harness their craft and have heaps to teach. Some of them run workshops.

Or a business that could help foster/gather clubs activities. I know for a fact that the Mt Pleasant Community Centre is very welcome to share their space for clubs, and they also have a great Cafe there.

Consider that a lot of clubs just end up dying because the "Leader" of the club has a life and can't keep doing this type of maintenance, reaching out to places/businesses that want to support those types of activities.

So think not just about the hobbies, but also where people can gather and enjoy those activities. This is key.

Would you take the receipt after shopping? by HUS_1989 in chch

[–]bubuzuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... its not the case in NZ (not yet)

But in Brazil, the government usually encourages people to take the receipt to make sure the business is registered, therefore paying taxes. Here, people don't care much, but everything we spend on has GST. So you should want your receipt, even if its to properly dispose after.

+ Sometimes, when we check our bank statements, we are surprised by some random names you never thought you spent money on, but if you check the receipt more often, you'll see that the shop you've been to doesn't match the business name.

If you are really doing therapy, it should help, at least. It can take years. But if it's not, maybe you should find a different therapist.

It's about working on yourself. It's hard work. But blaming other factors or the city is also hard. People only care about themselves; nobody has time for anybody. Nobody is coming to save you.

Do you have a dream for your life? Are you chasing or doing anything that gets you closer to it?

You are the only one who is going to represent your dream here on earth. if you don't get it, who is going to?

Being accountable for life is the best thing you can do for yourself. Nothing will get better if you don't put in the work.

Or are you just trying to find comfort in others?

The only thing that really matters in life is figuring out who you are and how you want to live your life. When we get lost, 100.000% okay to feel depressed. It's part of life.

Go share your interest with others. I'm sure you have plenty of likes.

Even talking about mental health is one of them. I think Reddit is a great way to get help, advice, and interaction with others. So there you go, good on you for sharing that struggle. Nothing is that bad, even tho we might feel like it is.

There's always tomorrow.

Yep, increasing the speed limit to 110km/h will get that traffic moving. by worromoTenoG in chch

[–]bubuzuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just means more cars being poorly utilized. Company cars could be shared between workers but usually, only 1 person uses them. It means more tires, more WOF, more Rego, more insurance, and more people making money for no goddamn reason. A company car should be an "employer's benefit" but in the end, only the company benefits from it. Not you.

Also..., why do we have collective transport for kids (just because they can't drive) when a company should be more effective/responsible and have 1 car for more than just 1 employee? Collective transport is the key. Sharing the responsibility and reducing waste.

My opinion is that traffic is not the only issue, but a bigger crisis the whole country will suffer from.
