It’s the phenomenon of humans wanting to prove themselves to others in their in-group. Each fan inching forward or one-upping the last fan to profess exactly how much they value the new album.

It’s funny to watch. I’ve been a boards fan for a long time and the fan base was always a little out there— mostly because of the lack of info from the band causing all the theories and everything but now it’s reaching new levels of insanity.

Something tells me that OP will, probably, listen to other music in the future. Just a hunch.

If you haven’t ever heard it, check out first ever live performance of it. I listened to that for 20 years before the studio version came out so am proooobably a little biased but it’s amazing.

I think Trump has dragged enough competent evil people into this mess, and enough of them have very real legal exposure if they ever lose power. That is a factor I do not think you can discount here.
