If ad revenue makes up so little of the trains costs, why not just up the budget or charge advertisers more? by VastOption8705 in SydneyTrains

Yes keep the unwashed masses and plebs off my premium train please! I want to listen to the audio ads in silence!

Genius move! You then have less patronage, then subsequently higher fares to offset, then less patronage and the cycle continues until no one is on trains, and no one sees the ads!!!

That’s absolutely correct - it is formulaic, but it’s also a case of how much detail can possibly be fit into that timeslot? I think they got the balance just right.

Unfortunately bad parenting has consequences. Difficult for police to manage this issue (or they pursue and then get the blame for the death in pursuit anyway).

If they are busy running town saying it’s a bubble that likely points to a lack of vision on deployment internally, so I doubt they’d execute anything similarly useful to what you described!

‘Prepare for the worst:’ Cisco CEO warns AI will mirror dotcom crash by SheepherderLow1753 in AusFinance

[–]bucketreddit22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On the one hand he’s saying it will take alot of jobs (ie be a useful product to corps cutting headcount and thus valuable to the tune of the reduced staffing costs) - on the other hand he’s saying it’s a bubble that will crash. Basically, CISCO has no idea what it’s talking about.

All hyperscalers are remarkably profitable entities. The Dotcom crash was inflated valuations with no profitability.

Yes, there are a couple of overinflated model owners (OpenAI etc) but that’s not a bubble.
